I think it's not cool for people to ask me if what I did embarrasses me. The only thing I'm ashamed of is that I have to be afraid to tell people what my job is because I'm afraid that someone who used to like me won't like me anymore because they think I'm no longer deserving of their respect.

I find it strange that you suggest that she should be ashamed or embarrassed about what she does and then ask how YOU could get involved in the business.
Is that a gender double standard (men who do it are studs, but the women are...something not so nice) or have I missed your point?

Why should they be ashamed of their choice of careers? These actors and actresses are proud of what they do and should be applauded for doing something they enjoy.
I have been very impressed with the openness they have shown in their postings here, these are people I would be proud to have as friends. They are a lot more honest and real than many people I have met in the business world.
These are very confident, secure people, that is something to be admired, not to be ashamed of.

Exactly. For me what I hate the most is hypocrisy.
Many times I've heard many porn fans refer to the actresses as "sluts" or "skanks".
I think it's a perfectly valid point of view that porn is immoral or wrong or whatever. But what isn't valid is to criticize pornstars for what they do when you yourself are a porn consumer that spends money and thus encourages the industry. It is this hypocrisy that is unacceptable. Porn consumers have no grounds from which to criticize the actresses or disrespect them for it is they that finance the industry.
This is much like some men who are always looking for women to get laid with but have absolutely no respect for those women and think highly only of women that are virgins. But that is just hypocrisy for if it were not for men like him, the women wouldn't behave that way. He himself encourages that behavior in women but then dares criticize the women that engage in that behavior.
I just can't stand hypocrisy.
