tinatyler: That's really strange! We saw you enter the chat room, but like you said, you couldn't type anything.
There should be a text box at the bottom of the chat window with a flashing cursor. If everything's working right, you should be able to type in your message and press the Enter key, and it should show up in the chat window. If that doesn't happen, then there's a technical problem.
Please give it another shot, and if it still doesn't work, let us know. It would be helpful to know which web browser you are using (Internet Explorer or Netscape), and which version (you can find this out by going to the browser's "Help" menu, and going down to "About."

You don't need to download IRC. I just tried it in Netscape without a prob, but now I can't find out which version of Netscape because it won't open again for some stupid reason.
Before typing you may have to click on the text box with your mouse to set up the cursor. Do you see a cursor?
(I do this all the time - type out a whole big thing - look up at the screen and see that I didn't put the cursor in the text box.)

I didn't get a text box to come up on my screen (at least not a seperate one to write in, just the one that showed everyone else's messages)

Problem solved. I was mucking about today and somehow (even though I did nothing different) the chat worked!!!!

And, speaking on behalf of the regulars who hang out in the chat room most evenings, we invite everyone to stop by and chat a bit. It's nice to be able to have a real conversation with some of the people who's names I see here in the forum, rather than just via ADT posts.
