I don't know why I'm not a bigger Savanna Samson fan. She's beautiful, she has an uncommon ability to traverse the spectrum from classy to nasty, and she's a good actress. On paper, I should be crazy about her, but it seems I only watch her movies when I have another reason.

In this case, it's to see what Bryan Xin does with a Vivid movie. But that answer may have to wait. "Savanna's Secret" apparently was shot contemporaneously with "Savanna's Been Black Maled", and it's clearly the throw-in of the pair.

That doesn't mean it's not any good. But while it looks like we're set up for a "corporate achiever by day, slut by night" story, it's only an account of one visit to a sex club on one night -- five sex scenes connected by no more than Samson walking from one room to the next. In other words, it might as well be an all-sex disc. In that vein, it's certainly good enough.

Pros: Both of Savanna's scenes (the opener where she and Exotica share Christian, and one with Scott Nails that includes some foot fetish material) are pretty solid. I especially like the three-way, which was well-captured.

*Speaking of which, the movie takes an interesting approach to one of the classic problems with group scenes: keeping track of everyone. The closing four-way with Kylee King and Holly Wellin employs split-screen on several occasions. Multigirl scenes often frustrate me when the action shifts away from the one I like best, and I guess this is one way of dealing with that. I'm not sure it's a device that needs to catch on, but it's interesting.

*I liked Missy Monroe's reactions in her scene, and I liked her hair. They styled it to death, and she totally looks like Melanie Griffith circa "Working Girl." And there's some kind of sexy smoking fetish stuff during the BJ.

Cons: Not much, other than the thin concept. Having Eva Angelina in a 20-second non-sex role is a bit of a cocktease, though.

BTS Highlight: Xin coming prepared with a big Niagara-Falls-style yellow rain poncho to shoot Flower's g/g scene with Nicki Hunter. As Flower walks by Xin in his getup, she quips, "You think that's gonna save ya?"

This one will be much shorter. I rented "Mythology" because I'm still naive enough to hope movies will find an interesting way to address the themes implied in their titles. No such luck here.

The framing device is just a conversation between Monique Alexander and Steven St. Croix in which she allegedly recounts tales of the gods fucking. There's people I like in the cast, but it really didn't hold my interest at all. Echh.

"Twindom" was my first look at the Vivid Twins, Lacey and Lyndsey Love. I never had any more of an affinity for the twin fantasy than the next guy, but everybody's got to like the idea at least a little bit, right? Plus, they're pretty. All good. But ...

a) Holy shit are these gals bad actresses. Unbearable, except for any amusement you might get out of a mangled attempt to pronounce "genitalia". OK, I know I'm the only one on earth who cares. And on the plus side, you know, they're twins.

b) Maybe you'll agree with me, maybe you won't, but it seems to me that there really isn't much point in having sex scenes that don't involve both of them. Am I crazy, or isn't the only point of having twin porn stars to get them to work together? Doesn't it defeat the fucking purpose to have just one of the sisters doing a scene just like any non-twin?

Of the five scenes, two of them involve just one of the sisters, one is each of them with separate partners (and the secret sister-switch plot element is gruesomely botched in the editing), one is four girls and two guys but with the twins basically separated again, and then only the last scene, finally, is the two of them doubling up on Steven St. Croix.

Something about that doesn't seem right to me.

Overall, the movie pretty much blows. I won't even tell you how stupid the main plot point is, it's too embarrassing to type. The sex setups are lame, and as performers Lacey and Lyndsey are only fair to middling. But I wouldn't say it's a total loss, and I'm open to seeing more of their movies, because, you know, they're twins.

He's had some bad experiences with squirters, trust me. I recall one particularly hilarious story about Angela Stone. Perhaps he'll come here to tell it to you all.

Oh yeah, the time that thing happened with the what's-it-called at that place with the fake leather couch. Yeah... that was classic.

Savanna is so special, love her. She was brilliant in "New Devil In Miss Jones". I'd drink her wine anytime.
