Harri: I've looked into DSL and yes the internet is cheaper but you have to buy a landline, which I haven't had in my home since 2007.

Depends what torrent clubs you're a member of. The only ones I've used are strict about detailed info on what the files contain. Then again, I mostly watch obscure weirdo Euro art shit. (Stuff you really cannot buy in the US). But some of the rips are gorgeous.

The new generation porn watcher has been introduced to porn as free content,so for them porn = free clips. As technology advances it seems like a lot of things are becoming free.Remember the time you had to buy Encyclopedia or take an effort to go to the Library to find infomation? Now all you have to do is google the info or go to wikipedia and there you have your information and more as there are other links that broadens your searched topic.
Tube sites are a serious threat to commercial porn in a big way. They offer privacy, thousands of scenes with different categories to choose from. You don't have to share your credit card info online,go to a shop only to find the title you are interested in is out of stock or even hide your DVD collection if you don't want anybody to find out about it.
The sad thing is professional pornstars whom we hold dear to our hearts will be compromised in all of this evolution of adult entertainment.Maybe some old school porn lovers will continue to buy porn but it seems like Amature content can be another future threat especially with improved web cam quality and bandwith getting cheaper.
At the end of the day the onus lies with commercial porn industry to develop a modern business model to capture the free content dominated mindset that is the norm in today's world.

I wonder what the state of the porn industry will be post-middle class. I expect the spread of poverty to swing a bigger wrecking ball than piracy.

whats going to eventually kill tubesites is that
somebody is going to upload child porn and the feds are going to
shut them down all of them once the mainstream media gets a hold.

question guys
up until now i either bought dvds at adult shops or downloaded titles off a torrent site.
now my problem is a) adult stores here generally only have the bigger titles released...quite a small range compared to US stores.
b) torrents are great but i have trouble finding a lot of stuff i want which is a lot of titles from 90s/00s and lesser known stars.
I need advice off you guys on how you get your porn and how you rate it?
Is video on demand worth it? [edited] especially for anyone who likes older porn not new release or lesser known stars.
Ive never used credit card online for anything like this before so am a little suss with it.
MOD:
Don't ask for locations of torrent sites.

And I expect the retiring of baby boomers to cause an increase in sales for pornographic material, especially on older technology platforms.

I've 'sampled' too, I must admit.
Yes, VOD is great. AEBN is my favorite but I have a Digital Playground code to get rentals streamed. I was never fond of renting DVDs so I'm fine with rental options, and streaming-to-own, online. I highly suggest it. Besides, you said you like big fake boobs. That seems to all they have sometimes. And Videobox is pretty big on older titles.
I've read that high-end online porn actually has among the most secure transactions due to privacy concerns.

in regards to sites like videobox, adultdvdempire etc how does it actually work?
as in if you choose the dearer option of download you keep it, if you stream it you can only watch once?
i dont have much privacy in this house living with 3 women, so i like to convert streaming or video i have to mp4 and watch on my ipod..is this possible?
sorry, never done the pay for video on demand before so no idea how it works.
am excited tho if i can find rarer movies with stars i love that are impossible to get here is Aus

oh sorry forgot to say
which site/option would be best if i only wanted to join up to one...and wanted the maximum amount possible at a great value?
some seem to be pay per minute.....not sure what one site to use and what option.
Also would have to be a site that streams in a format i can save and convert to mp4 ipod format

I mostly use AEBN, which definitely allows you to download to own some titles on the mp4 format. For example, Anal Fanatic 2 is available to own on mp4 today. I've never downloaded an mp4 from Adultdvdempire, but I have an mp4 converter so I wouldn't need to anyways. I have a DivX converter with the option if you're looking for one. They all have DRM-free files defined as "available for you to download on any computer and save to a disk whenever you like. You can also download to multiple computers. There is no timeframe associated with your purchase and the content will not expire."

oh yes i have mp4 converters, i didnt meant to download to mp4 i meant, if i stream to rent for example as opposed to buying to own...which seems about half the price, can i convert the rental stream to an mp4 file to my computer or is it protected?
just a lot of them i only want for one star/scene so paying double the price for only one scene seems a waste of money. Also i would download a LOT more if i could do it the cheaper way

I've used adultdvdempire (their download/vod site is just adultempire.com) and find the quality of their downloads usually quite good (better than hotmovies.com).
You can either download them DRM-free or stream them as a rental or 'lifetime' purchase. They have loads of classic era features on there, but I can't really comment on their 90s selection as I hate that era of porn.

Adult DVD Empire is the best, especially if you want to download-to-own older films. I believe you can download to own on mp4.
All of them hover in the $20-30 range, new or old. But I've never used Videobox precisely because I couldn't figure out how to download a whole movie so I don't know much about that one.
AEBN has the best rental options. Most films are around $10 for a single 48-hour rental.
Pay per minute only accounts for when you 'rent' it by streaming a scene or the whole movie. If you only want a particular scene like I did with Jynx Maze and Gracie Glam in Battle of the Asses 3, it's convenient. I can see it getting expensive though.

i cant find on either videobox, adultempire or albordavod what i am charged for using it.
i guess i dont understand the whole vod too well.
so if i want to just get a specific scene from a movie i have to do pay per minute? but if i want the whole movie i have to choose between rent and buy?
with that, if i rent, can i use a program like Orbit to download the video onto my hard drive to then convert to ipod?

^We're probably going to get moved over to the Shopping forum soon.
There's no monthly fees for Adult DVD Empire and AEBN. You just have to open an account, and start browsing pretty much instantly. There are monthly fees on VideoBox.
If the DVD or scene is available to download-to-own, the price will be listed. Pay-per-minute requires that you purchase minutes when you sign up. I wouldn't go for that on Adult DVD Empire. Pay per minute is not widely available on Adult DVD Empire. It is on AEBN though.
Oh, no I you can't rent a film to upload to your hard drive permanently. You download it for say, 7 days, and every time you watch it you have to acquire a license number that is only valid for those 7 days. It just doesn't play after that. So I doubt you can legally convert it to an iPod unless Apple has a way to get you to acquire that license number every time you try to watch the film.

Another problem that arises is that the more you watch porn, the more variety you want.Personal dvd collections are limited in this regard.Today people watch many scences before they cum and that is also the reason why tubesites have unfortunately been the popular means for wankers to satisfy their ever increasing cravings.
What is the solution? Unfortunately no clear cut one as yet.To top it all tubesites are free which means they have one of the most powerful words online "FREE".

i dont mind paying for good quality and good value. having a browse this afternoon on a few vod sites cant say its that good value for money. i mean with titles i can get on dvd yes, i dont have a choice but 10 year old titles at similar prices to brand new ones? cmon thats crazy. i would buy 1 hex more if they were better priced. Can you blame people looking on torrents or tubes when porn is so dear? its sooo cheap to make ( trust me i know from working with a small production company here briefly..the owner is laughing all the way to the bank) so it should be cheaper to buy. Why can i buy a 10 year hollywood movie for $5 on dvd with extra features etc that cost 100million + to make yet a porn thats 10 years old and cost sweet f%$k all to make i still got to pay premium price? doesnt make sense

^When we're talking about old titles, that does not make sense. But I buy new titles so I don't complain.

For clarification, Videobox isn't really a VOD site, it's a subscription scene/movie archive. Not really any different from the big web porn companies like Brazzers or BangBros, except that Videobox features licensed content instead of original works.

The price of older films depends on their rarity, a hollywood blockbuster may be cheap but a cult title that is OOP can go for crazy amounts of money, on DVD or VHS even.
As for the prices, I find the $1.99 for one day rental on Adultempire.com more than reasonable. I only really need a DRM-free download or DVD if I really like a title.

If people who appear in anti-piracy messages on dvds are really serious about it, they could refuse to work for brazzers.

There is just so much porn around these days.
I am trying to catalog my collection
I am thinking about hiring someone to do it for me.
I may have to hire someone to watch it all.
But I still want more - always looking for that special scene !
