I'm trying to figure out this Twitter thing. I doubt I can come up with any tweets worth following, but it might be fun to keep up with what some other people are saying. Is it all just "going to Starbucks" and "i'm bored" posts? Can anyone recommend any performers who are on Twitter, particularly any that you deem worth following?

Wow, the first two responses (Kristina & Mika) are probably 2 of the best. Sinnamon Love is always a good read, as is Marie Luv. Angel Vain seems to have a fun world going on and is very funny to read as well

Pete there are quite a number of pornstars that are worth following and the previous posters have mentioned a small number of really good ones but it is essentially trial and error. Some girls essentially post simply to ask for votes constantly. Others as you mentioned tweet about Starbucks and boredom but the beauty of twitter is that within a very short time you will be able to make your own assessment as to which girls interest you and which girls dont. Thats when the unfollow button comes into play.

Follow Tanner on Twitter and you'll see she is a bit of a train wreck so to speak. Gotta love how she let's it all out there though. Her columns for Whackmagazine are crazy ramblings that you have to ask, how much is true and how much is a put on?...Jury is still out for me. I'm still a big fan but one has to wonder how long will she last with her crazy lifestyle?...

The best ones have an even mix of pics, wacky observations, and philosophical ramblings. Most importantly, minimal or no self-promotion. Not to say y'all shouldn't use Twitter as a marketing tool. But it can't be the overwhelming majority of your updates. Also, constant bitching about everything gets old pretty fast.

I am thinking that just like everything else today, sometimes too much information can be just that ... too much. There were a couple girls that I tried to follow and found them to be drama queens or trainwrecks. It seemed to involve me in a world that I really dont want to be part of. Not anything really crazy, just not for me. The same reason I dont watch "Cops" or Jerry Springer".
That led me to think that maybe I dont want to know some pornstars every thought. Maybe I just dont want to know, and just get back to watching what they do best. I can say twitter has turned me off to a couple girls.

Generally, I'm seeing a lot about drinking, smoking pot, irksome things while traveling, eating, partying. The occasional useful nugget -- such as Sara Sloane's tweet with the URL for her GBA 24 video -- almost gets overwhelmed amidst the mundane. I'm not sure what I was expecting -- I didn't think I'd be seeing tweets about how awesome it was to have some guy jack off on a face (though one girl did tweet about how happy her vagina was), and I doubted I'd be reading any great pearls of wisdom.
No one in my family has a Twitter account, and we've been making jokes about it, like, "Do I really need to now when my friends go to the bathroom?" So far, at least, the jokes aren't too far from reality.

Another way to show the devolution of society. Most Pornstar's really don't have much to do, except tell you what there eating, there shopping habits, what song their listening to and who there fucking. A few do post a significant item every now and then.

Well, I have to admit it was interesting to read Tanner Mayes's tweets as she was blowing some apparently random guy on a train. Well, actually, she tweeted her intent and then when the deed was done, along with a pic of a wet spot on his pants.

One thin I've noticed is how many female performers seem to be looking forward to upcoming shoots with other women, and how few tweet with anywhere near the same degree of enthusiasm about the straight scenes they're doing. Not sure why; just thought it worthy of a comment.

^^ Mostly likely because they work with a relatively small group of guys over and over. Scenes with other girls are more rare and they don't often work with the same girl.

When I first got into this a few months back, someone told me that everyone in the industry networked via Myspace. Myspace, however, seems dead. Twitter, on the other hand, has been a great tool for me to meet people in the industry and to keep tabs on what's going on in the world of porn. I've also gotten a lot of good porn advice just by following the likes of Belladonna and Jenna Haze there.
For fans though, it's not a bad place to find out about news, and I know that me and a lot of other girls post new pics there a lot.
