I'm really very interested in understanding how this happened. I was doing some web browsing (with PopUpCop enabled) and this link led to that link which led to this link - which you don't want to cut-and-paste into your IE browser:
http://ww1.top100.org/ ~21911/skirts.top100.org/index.html
(Note that I intentionally left a blank between the / and the ~ in case someone tried to mindlessly go there).
At this site, somehow they managed to fire off software that got a webdialer downloaded! This is scary! I got a message about mssys .exe failing, then I found that I had a dl .exe and a dlm .exe running, and then I got a couple of browser windows up acting all strange.
It also put a movietrader1 icon on my desktop, and installed files in c:\program files\websiteviewer.
I downloaded the HTML at that site (via wget) and saw that there's some strange looking (not knowing the language very well, I still suspected that it's the culprit). How is it that this stuff can get downloaded without my getting warned in any way?
I'm running NAV to see if anything else is there.
Note that I had no phone line connected into my laptop at the time. I'm running XP Pro.
