I’m waiting on an order of 6 dvd’s from DVD Empire. It’s now 24 days with no disks. I’m a bit worried about this. I ordered from them once before & to be fair it did take a couple of weeks or more for them to get to me. What kind of time do the other UK consumers usually receive packages from this store in?

Any info would be great!!

My recent first order with them took 10 days to arrive from posting. They are slower than say AdultDVDNow because their packages have a Customs Declaration Form on the front so the guys at Mount Pleasant sorting office will be screening them for payable Duty and VAT etc.

As another thread has pointed out DVDEmpire show the true value of goods on the front of the package as well as a description 'DVD software' or words to that effect. You can't make it any easier for a Customs Officer or a thief between the US and the UK wanting to increase their DVD collections.

As your order was for 6 disks it's safe to assume that the value exceeded the £18 limit and it could be held up at Mount Pleasant sorting office. My order was less than this so they just stamped the front and sent it on its way.

I have taken advantage of Empires recent sale and have ordered 4 disks. I was aware of the £18 limit so I split the order into 2 packages which brought each order within the limit. They should arrive within the next week all being well.

I have recently used DVDExplorer for the first time and they took about 10 days to arrive from posting. Although they have a Customs Declaration on the front they did not specify the true value of goods and the description they use is 'software'. The strange thing about the package is it had a French postmark on the front and it was not stamped by UK Customs. I haven't worked out whether it has come from the US or France.

Anyway I hope your order turns up.

Damn...still no disks!!! Does anyone know how long UK customs takes to check through a package, then send it on? I know when they seize a package it takes a couple of months to get a letter, but What about just an examination?
