The UK Liberal party is discussing the porn laws at its conference. They propose making it more available, cheaper license for sex shops, a better regulated sex industry and porn available to 16 year olds. Radio 4 today program had Ben Dover to discuss, and there is an online bulletin on the Radio4 today site to discuss.

I totally disagree with lowering the age to 16. In fact, I think it should be 21!

Why??? I think it should be readily available to all those above 16. I mean, you find it in your dads cupboard anyway, when you get sexually curious.

I have never understood this 18 years limit thing relating to porn.

If we can have sex when we're 16 yrs old why cant people view sexual images until they are 18 ?

Having sex at 16 should be a one-to-one thing. In pornography there can be many scenes of sexual acts that could shock a 16 year old (I won't go into what they are).
If, for instance, it was lowered to 16...15 and 14 year olds might say "hey, what about us!?"
THAT WOULD BE A VERY DANGEROUS ROAD TO GO DOWN. AND I STILL THINK 18 IS TOO YOUNG.

16, 15 & 14 year olds are saying what about us anyway!

Lowering the age wont make any difference, if you want porn you will always get it. What it will do is allow people who want porn to be able to get good porn rather than crap porn and this can only be a good thing!

Lets lower the age!

P.S. It still wont get me voting liberal.

If you lower the age to access porn, would this mean you will start to get 16 year old porn stars?

This may appeal to some, but I think keeping it at 18 is fine. Even though, it does seem a bit strange that you can ahve sex at 16, but not allowed to buy porn.

pesonaly i think all age laws should be set to 18. sex, smoking, armed forces, driving. if we extended school to continue till 18 instead of 16 it would be easier too.

or i could be talking bollox
