This is only for sale in licensed sex shops, not by mail order. Also this is not to be regulated in the same manor as the old R18 code. There are also reports that customs is letting mail order porn from America through to the UK from yesterday. Has anyone got any info on this situation? Any word from any of the stores? I think this is very important, so should be in the main forum. [Link] |

The Wanderer  All-Star Member 192 Posts 6/00 | Posted - Jul 20 2000 : 5:09PM What the BBFC fail to realise is that they've just created a mountain of new work for themselves as distributors rush to release hardcore for the first time in the U.K. What customs make of the new guidelines is anyone's guess. I would also be interested in hearing of any instances where customs opened a parcel containing hardcore material and cleared it. Similarly, we need to hear about confiscations. I suppose the only way we'll know for certain is to abandon Adult DVD Now's safe shipping methods and have a large box sent through with 'PORN' written on the side in giant letters.  That would be a good test but I won't be trying it.Until I hear or read a definitive statement from customs on this subject I will remain cautious. All they can do is seize the goods. If a British person challenged their seizure, custom can't win(i think!). Also what's the point of raiding someones house for films that they can legally own & legally buy? The laws in the UK are real strange! [Link] |
