I was exceedingly happy with the way UNS 11 came out. AJ went fucking bonkers for her hubby's set. Not sure about the destroying of villages and such. Anabolic/Diabolic is a studio with individual directors who direct their own movies as individuals. For example, I have no input on what the other directors shoot. After all, it's their vision which I will never interfere with. There is no Mike John anymore who keeps everyone in line with a singular vision. It's also reflected in sales which have been better than ever according to the head of sales.

I'll just keep making movies the way I'd like to see them. If it works, I'm happy and I make more money. If it doesn't work, I'm out of a job and panhandling next to the local Internet cafe. Personally I don't care if people love or hate my stuff as long as they don't tell me my stuff is cookie cutter, predictable, interchangeable gonzo. Which is why my favorite directors are people like Mason, Tom Zupko, Joey Silvera, early Rodney, Mike John, and Johnni Darkko. I don't know how but you can tell they care about their product, warts and all.

The only thing I've learned from directing is that if you use great performers, all you're doing is capturing the scene. However, the most important thing about directing is setting the mood and the vibe on the set which resonates in the final product.

Shit, it's getting late and I'm writing too much already.

For the record, Lewd Conduct #20 has a DVD Extra scene with Brooke which was talked about some months ago. It's interesting to say the least.

Actually, what's cool about UNS11 is that the sex is as crazy or better than some of the classic Anabolic fare, but it also has the zaniness. I had the sense that the girls were going places they would not necessarily go with other directors, their eyes siezed by lust and the sudden eruption of wild monkey hormones. Jamie Brooks, unleashed! That was quite fulfilling to watch.

And it's more or less the first Chico DVD where I can see it all coming together with consistency. "Burning the village" just means clearing the slate to build bamboo tiki huts in your own style.

It's all good Skronker. Late night drunken posts often end up ridiculous ramblings for me. If you think UNS11 was good, wait till you see Sal Genoa's ARTCORE. There's something weird about the DVD (it'll be available only on DVD). It's one of those movies you'll either love or hate. As long as you're 'disturbed' by it, I'm sure Sal won't mind. :) He really gave it his all on this one.
