Hi, I would like to intreduce my self, my name is danny, I'm from israel and I'm planning to invest/start up an adult website business, I will appreciate if you could forgive me for my bad english as it's not my native language.
I planning to open up a BIG VOD website, I have the necessary funds/budget so money wouldn't be an issue for me.
However I didn't find a propriete content providers yet. It's seems like a very hard tesk to do, (I spent a day google it) and still no satisfying results :(
How thouse big VOD websites like videosz.com has so much worthy content if the everage content providers even not cover up 25% from the world wide studios ? Are they actually hire a personal to contact each studio manually in hope for an agreement ?
I Personnaly managed to find acouple of content provider websites (to buy DVD licence) but I wish to find some "PRO service" with better content, in order to cover and gather all HQ studios content together so webmasters like me wouldn't have a hard time searching for DVD contents.
* I understand that some studios had never participated with such online campaigns, but still I sure there is alot to explore outthere even without those uncooperative studios.
For ex : Studios like zero tolerance, Sincity , adam & eve are not published with any content provider on the net, yet I see those DVD in a scene downloadable form on multiple other VOD webpages.
So What will be the festest way ( or the proper way ) to get a full lenght DVD content from those companies ?
I will appreshiate your honest responds, thank you in advance.

I would hazard a guess that many of these sites are offshoots of retail DVD sellers. They have the content, they have the connections, it is just a different way to market the product.

Most studios will not sell/license their stuff to content providers, since you get paid only peanuts.
It's more lucrative to either do your own VOD sites or license it directly to a VOD site for a percentage.

It's a good point and indeed it make sense Jacco, and It's probebly the reason why there is so many uncooperative studios out there.
Percentage deals are a good idea eather, they are still profitable & lucarative IMO.
However, do I still need to contact those studios menually ?
Is there some kind of database for such things ?
For example :
http://www.videosz.com/legal.php?s=9479/0&lg=us&pg=usc2257
For the matter of fact it's a big list of studios thet are already agreed to give license and they are hosted for downloading.
I pretty sure that most of those was never offered by a "content provider" so I assume there was some kind "Percentage deals" so the quastion will be :
What should be their reqairments & from where and how to contact those studios ?
I hardly believe of such business concept that those are actually both retail sellers and VOD website, but yet it's possible.
*But still you need a different lisance for both cases.
And you will likelly to get a lisance for retail sales and not for VOD,as they can sell it much more then a one time fee at a website) - unless you have made a speacial deal (and this is what I'm tring to fegure out right now)

?? What about Adult DVD Empire or Action DVD or Gamelink? I could go on. There are a lot of retailers with large VOD selections.
Videosz has been doing this a long time. Yes, they probably contacted the studios for each deal. Often many studios are owned/run by one company so it's not as much contacting as you think.
If you want to do a BIG VOD website then hire someone to go to Los Angeles and work deals with all the studios.

First of all thank you for responses.
Althought I know that this would probebly the best way to do it, I personally hoped to get started (first month) only with 4-5 of those studios (and pick a specific new HQ content), and after that, slowly add more studios as content would be updated more frequently.
I thinked about building the site first, then hire a person to make the contacts for me, the new quastion will be :
What would be my chances without actually go to LA ? I hoped to work it out using a telephone / internet.
Could you please reccomend a good / reliable place to hire somebody online in LA (in case I would need it)
Thank you, looking for your kind answeres.

In stead of hiring someone locally, you could also go to one of the big tradeshows, like Venus in Berlin or AEE in Las Vegas. Lots of studios there.

If you're looking for content, hit me up at pat@pornaddict.com and I'll direct you to the largest adult webmaster message board where you can ask this question and get tons of responses by content providers.
I don't want to post the URL here as it's innapropriate to advertise other boards.

Gelfer - its not the content thats the problem. Currently I am working with a new VOD company. It really hasnt been difficult to get content, however, my client has been in the biz for awhile. So his connections have helped. Trying to do this yourself from your location might be a problem.
The actual hard part is to get traffic that converts to paid sales. You are going to be going up against AEBN and HotMovies, not to mention Clips4Sale.com. These guys rake in traffic and money. A new VOD site, with all associated costs might require initial start up of close to $500,000 or more.
Also you have to compete with the amount of free porn that is already on the web.
Im not trying to tell you to forget it, just trying to pass along some helpful advice. Good luck with it.

Competition & money is my strong side ;) however I don't see a reason to waste so much on website hosting, content & desighn.
Traffic can be expansive and need to be paid monthly however, there is defenitly no need for 0.5M for that LOL.
I fill that I can do much better even if it will take a time ( I'n not a new in internet marketing ) I see no problems beside the quastion on how to get a high quality budget films from top studios.
