Perhaps even today, not all email proggies are quite as good at that, though I haven't had problems with it for years. What email program do you use? [Link]

Click to expand Yes, I know that it's called Eszett but it's often replaced by ss - Preußen (Prussia) for instance is written Preussen here in Denmark, and Switzerland and Liechtenstein have officially abolished ß and replaced it with ss. And because of the 1996 German spelling reform Rußland (Russia) is now spelled Russland. Wikipedia on the ß. ) Sometimes it's spelled Prøjsen insted, but that's a different story [Link]

Click to expand There are still problems with some e-mail programs, not only the clients but also the distribution systems. There's a German bookstore that sends me newsletters in which they have to write fuer instead of für and Daenemark instead of Dänemark (Denmark). [Link]

Even the latest spelling reform? [Link]

I remember using it at work yonks ago. I think Pegasus still has a problem with anything beyond a basic subset of ISO-8859-1. There may be some Pegasus specific helper programs that can help. OTOH, if poor international support is a real problem for you, it might be time to switch. Thunderbird is nice. Before switching to Linux, I preferred Eudora Mail. But that was back in the 90s so I don't know how well that holds up today. Recent poll: Which E-mail software do you use? BTW, I love your gently wistful avatar. Who is the beauty? [Link]
