I can tell them how to act (as in I can tell them if something they are doing is offending me), but I can't tell them what to think. With that said, there are still some things that I think are wrong for people to think. If you are aroused by videos of girls being taken advantage of while unconscious, even if you clearly know that they are acting, it would seem to me that you are aroused by this form of rape. Now, I'm definitely not accusing you of practicing it or wanting to do it in real life; you may very well know the line between fantasy and reality. But it seems to be a fantasy that you have, a fetish of sorts. Again, if this is true, what goes on in your mind is your business and I can't tell you to not have this fantasy or anything like that. It's just that I am appalled by rape in any form, even if it is simulated rape (because that to me indicates an appeal to people who are aroused by this sort of thing), and so I can't help but to react the way I did in my initial post by saying it was just wrong. I'll use an unrelated analogy for the way I feel. If a guy hates all black people in his mind, that is his business. But if he goes around making racial comments and acting on his beliefs, that is a problem. Even if he doesn't act on any of these beliefs, I would very much like for him not to think these thoughts, and I would think his thoughts are wrong. But, I couldn't do anything to change that. Again, this is an unrelated example that I am not applying to anyone here. Anyway, that's how I feel, and that's the reason for by initial knee-jerk reaction. I hope you can understand where I am coming from. Edited by - getcool on 5/30/2003 6:40:07 PM |
