I typically just read here and browse around, but I felt like this was a subject that was really on my mind a lot and felt like it might be interesting for my first post.
I certainly appreciate the current superstars like Teagan, Hillary Scott, Monica Sweetheart, Jenna Haze, etc, and they are very hot and deserve all the attention that they get.
Then there are some "relative newbies" who seem to be stars already like Sasha Knox and Jenna Presley (my 2nd favorite porn star in the world-what a smile and those eyes!).
Then you have some really new people who seem to have generated an insane amount of buzz right out of the gate, most notably Sasha Grey and to a lesser extent, the gorgeous Ginger Lee.
But I wanted to salute/bring attention to some of the other starlets who don't seem to get the attention I think they deserve (where's the 35 page shrine for Emily Evermoore?) and also who I think may one day be big time stars themselves.
I'm hoping other posters will add other names and comment about my choices. Let me know what I've gotten right and where I've gone wrong.
MOST UNDERAPPRECIATED- PENNY FLAME (aka Mrs. Dr. McDreamy. Don't laugh, guess what I can dispense for medicinal purposes?)--Ok, most posters here probably will disagree with this choice as Penny is pretty big, accomplished, and has a large fan base. But I thought I'd start my list with the person who I think is the best in the business, so, based on that opinion, I think she is TOTALLY underappreciated. She has everything. She is beautiful, funny, smart, and the camera loves her. She can act and she probably could act in mainstream movies and tv. Her BTS bits are insanely entertaining and usually steal the show. I think you can even see/sense that the male talent takes a special liking to her, like they won a lottery drawing getting her over the other 4 or 5 girls. I'm a fan of Shane's World, but they can be very uneven, sometimes good...sometimes not. When Penny is involved, it's a homerun. They should let her run the place. She makes it hot, funny, she directs the films to have a flow, and her casting is impeccable. She's simply brilliant. I actually was watching Blazed and Confused 2 and wanted to see her wearing a bikini more than I did naked. I've seen her naked, but seeing her in a two piece on a boat or the beach was insanely hot. You know you are amazing when you are just as hot (in porn) to the fan when you dressed and Penny sure is that. Personality, performance, talent, and she should be mega big. Everyone should be talking about her.
ANNETTE SCHWARZ-wicked hot and sure to be a gonzo star.
KACI STARR-came out of nowhere and now I think she's going to surprise people. she gives great camera.
SOPHIA LYNN-i need to see her a bit more, but her looks could take her very far.
ALEXA VON TESS-hope her bad habits don't keep her from doing really well.
LEXI BELLE-someone who just gets better and better imho.
AUBREY BANKS/NIKKI GRIND -aubrey and nikki were both kind of wild card picks. no one seems too interested, the both don't seem to be doing much, but I wanted to include them because you need to see them. both are hot, nikki has one of the hottest hair-styles in porn, and I hope they are both not already gone.
AVA ROSE-she gets overshadowed by her beautiful sister, but i think ava is even better.
TOBI PACIFIC-how is it even possible that she isn't big time already?
REBECCA LINARES-WOW! really...WOW!
EMILY EVERMOORE-my favorite of the "newbies" and more proof of Penny's genius that she cast her in Blazed and Confused 2. the sky is the limit for this girl. i would love to see her and Jenna Presley in the same scene...directed by Penny.
CELINA CROSS-she wasn't even on my radar after a few viewings, but her look now seems to be heading towards bonerific!
RILEY MASON-my last addition and a late one. she's not new, she has a lot of fans, the big studios seem to be on her now, but i just don't think she gets all the credit and attention as she should nonetheless.
I think you can add Tiffany Holiday to the list. She has a world-class body--perfect natural tits with huge nipples, great ass, etc... She seemed to give every scene her all, yet she never gets the love around here.
I know there were a lot if rumors about her having some issues, but who cares? I don't watch these girls because they lead a stable, well-balanced life. I heard she had dropped too much weight, but if that's the case, I think I saw a recent release and she seemed to be at her normal weight.
Another one you don't hear much about around here is Hailey Young. I just recently discovered her but she's been around for a few years and seems to be in a lot of 'extreme' videos. She's got a hot little teenish body and I'd love to hear more about her.

But the credibility of her post (linked above) still leaves me with doubt. If she wanted people to take notice, she'd interact more with the industry. Kirsten Price - Yeah I know she's a contract girl for Wicked and gets acclaims and headlines from time to time but I still don't think she gets the acknowledgement she deserves. I'm mean, for crying out loud, she has the looks of a super model and she's doing porn!!! Somehow this doesn't make waves in the industry. It's seems like brunettes, even gorgeous ones, don't get the same notoriety as blondes. It's a real shame.
Roxetta - She's a red-head with an absolutely gorgeous face and perfect body. Again redheads don't get the same attention or press as blondes. Don't get me wrong, I love blondes but a little variety would be nice.
Kirsten Price--I never knew who she was until last week when I caught a scene of hers. The main reason: I don't watch features. I don't think you get that many people in here who watch a lot of features.

Yeah, I agree...there's a reason why the 'feature-only' girls are underappreciated. Simply put, it's that they don't do the amount of physical work that the hardcore harlots do.
Sure, they do appearances & signings 'til their face turns blue, but that's not what porn is about, IMO. 6-10 scenes per year isn't my idea of a porn "star", and these girls shouldn't be held high on such pedestals.

If you come in here and browse and/or talk to your buddies and other couples who watch porn, you can get a pretty good idea of who's really hot and who seems to have a very bright future if they choose to stay in the business. The "underappreciated", IMO, are those who you may have heard of, but haven't a clue about how hard they work (or, never bothered to check). That's sad, considering Tory has done over 225 films ~ possibly 2nd to only Hillary Scott herself in that generation of performers (I think both started in Fall '04).
While you she not my underappreciated BY you, the word is subject to how you think others view her. More people are interested in the Taryn Thomas', Jenna Haze's and Teagan Presley's of the industry (with all due respect to those fine young ladies), in addition to many other names that could be dropped.
To me, "underappreciated" comes down to lack of recognition...underrated, as one other word. I think someone like Ginger is indeed underrated. Yeah, but there's a reason for that, the difference being "underappreciated" -v- "overrated", IMO. I think there's a heavy load of performers that fit into the Teagan category far ahead of McLee.

I have to completely agree with Holly Wellin as underappreciated, as well as Jasmine Tame. I'll throw Daisy in there too. I never thought of Venus or Trina Michaels as not getting enough love, but if that's the case, I'll happily endorse them. If we go by Spiegler's rule of measurement, awards, then the all time underappreciated starlets are Marie Luv and Katja Kassin. I'm confining my picks to women who are active and don't generate much buzz around here for their performances.
