i placed an order with them on 7/8/02 and 2 of 3 items were shipped 3 days later. however, the last item was never shipped and despite my emails, no reason was given. then today, i check order status on their site, and the order was cancelled! by whom? never received any info. also must have paid 'shipping' on this cancelled order! first and last experience with action-dvd!

kp, this information does not help anybody (including yourself.) here are some ways to post constructive criticism...
that is quoted from some shopping forum rules that drew was working on but hasn't had a chance to complete.

emails are often not answered because they were never received. or because it was returned undeliverable. just as an example from the past, a member here tried emailing you a coupon which you did not receive. perhaps action-dvd did attempt to notify you about the cancelled item?

@KP...
My advice is to email the boss, or the head of the dvd department in charge of your order.
Vent your anger. It usually works. I have had several run-ins with delays in the post or the on-line information not being up-to-date, like you say, orders that state shipment or shipping paid when it's not the case.

Regards,
Rump.

sorry about the lack of info. didn't want to resort to this as i usually order from others here on the site wihtout any problems.

anyway, my order # is AD363968. my order status was updated on 8/1/02 and states that the order was cancelled by me. if so, i would love to see the email or communication to that effect as this is news to me. i have NEVER received any email from action-dvd re: this or any response to my previoud emails.

I've had issues with Action in the past. Call them, it works.

Kp, sorry to hear of your shopping woes, but I can relate. I had a very similar problem a while back with Adult Video Universe (aka CD Universe) based out of Wallingford CT. To make a long sad story short, they shafted me on a DVD they kept advertising as in stock at their site and kept giving me the runaround with their lousy customer service rep's every time I contacted them by phone and email. Well needless to say, I learned a valuable lesson and took my business elsewhere and I found truly outstanding service at many other online stores, including Adult DVD Empire, XRentDVD and Five Star DVD, and they have kept me a very happy and satisfied customer ever since!

I ordered several times from Action-DVD and was very happy. The discs were well packaged, arrived promptly and were priced competitvely.

Also, they have great box cover scans! Not the biggest, but somehow, they make them look very vivid!

My dealings with Action have kind of petered out. My 1st couple of orders were handled perfectly-shipped next day (I especially like the "Action Software" return address). They've gotten slower, takes them 2-3 days now to ship. I have a suspicion they now rely completely on a HUGE wholesaler in Cleveland & that's what's holding them up. They do have great cust. service, though. When I had trouble with UPS mis-delivering they were the ones that lit a fire under UPS' ass for me. I was getting nowhere 'til Action called UPS-within less than 1 hour UPS called me & resolved the problem. They will ship to my PO Box (since I don't do UPS)-but they insist on Priority Mail, which is overkill for me since I'm about 35 miles away.---menace
