When did this start? I didn't notice until today.

The buyback prices aren't what I'd call generous, but at least I'll get something for some of the crappy discs I still have that spun.com won't take.

They rolled it out quietly earlier this month. They are still adding a few bells and whistles to further integrate it with their store. This is S.O.P. for new features at Empire's sites and a smart way to roll out new code.

Yeah, must be beta. I had just finished inputting 15 titles when they suddenly all disappeared from my cart. I had to start over. Oh well, such are the perils of being an early adopter.

Once the sellbacks start rolling in, I can't wait to see what the used prices are like when they start selling them. I hope they're correspondingly low as well.

Our used section is, as Drew notes, in the Beta stage. We plan to implement better navigation tools once we have all the kinks worked out. I will say that we do currently have used stock available for sale, it's just not that easy to see the titles. You have to either select the "used" link on the home page (left side browse section), or just go to the product that you like and see if there is used stock available. There is a "FAQ" available to explain the used procedure.

A more official announcement will be made once we have completed testing and refinement of the program. We hope to include this and our rental program (also in beta) into our site as well as ADT.

I've tried this once, and it's generally ok. I have to agree that the prices paid on some prime titles are kind of low. For example, I have Fashionistas right now. I bought it to see what the hype was all about. It was ok, but not really something I'll be viewing again and again. I feel like selling it, but they're only offering 9 bucks, which is kind of low in my opinion.

On the plus side, though, they do take a lot of what I consider crap, and you can sell them an entire bundle at a time instead of haggling with someone who only wants to buy two out of five disks, or stuff like that.

I sent them about 15 DVDs and all passed their test for unscratched surfaces, etc. You get an account credit (not cash), which is nice. When you combine the account credit, kickbacks, and coupons, you can get some pretty sweet deals.
