| David-J Member 155 Posts 8/02 |  Posted - May 25 2003 : 6:25AMI noticed Aybesea's scathing review of 'Up Your Ass #20" (only 2 stars) and thought I would offer a quick alternative opinion. No doubt this vid isn't for everyone. If you don't like interracial sex, girls with tattoos, or small tits, then you won't like this one. Also, like most Anabolic movies, the sets, 'costumes' and camerawork are rudimentary. However, if you like previous volumes in this series, you should like this one. Maybe it isn't quite up to the standard of #18 and #19, but it isn't far off. The girls, with the exception of Aimee Tylor and Sandra, may not be raving beauties, but they all give good enthusiastic performances. (Aybesea describes Karianna (credited as Kirianna)'s performance as 'lackluster' - compared to what????) Maybe Aybesea just doesn't like interracial scenes. I notice he gives only 2 stars for 'male looks'. Since the guys in the vid are Lexington Steele, Franco Roccaforte and Mr Marcus, this might seem an eccentic judgement. [Link] |

The male performers in that movie are Lex Steele, Sean Michaels, and Erik Everhard. The male performers in UYA 20 are Lex Steele, Mr Marcus, and Franco Roccaforte, and you gave them only 2 stars for 'male looks'. Since Lex is in both movies, you must think that Marcus and/or Franco (Teo) are very ugly indeed. Does anyone else agree with you? [Link] |

I strongly suggest that if you want to continue the discussion of male performers in this title, you take it to email. Trolling or flaming is not allowed, and you are walking on the edge. Bill also made a suggestiion, rather than reviewing a review, how about writing a review of the DVD. Like everyone else, I have my favorite performers (male and female). However, that does not mean that just because they are in a movie, that the movie will be great. It depends upon the presentation (makeup, clothes), camera work, editing skills, lighting, etc. A favorite (hot) performer can still be presented or done poorly in a movie. Sad, and I may have purchased the movie based on the performer, and then been disappointed. I would give it lower marks because of the presentatioin. Leaving aside the question of male performers, his assessment of the female talent was also very severe, with an overall mark of 1 1/2 stars out of 5 for 'female looks'. The girls in the vid were Aleksandra, Aimee Tyler, Karianna, Sandra, Angel Long, and Melanie Jagger. With the arguable exception of Karianna (whom I personally find quite attractive, in a freaky kind of way), I don't think any of these girls would normally get less than 3 out of 5. You slammed even the technical aspects, which I know stack up against anyone in the industry. A review is one thing misleading people is another. You went far into the misleading on this one and I'm calling you on it . I'd like to see some other reviews on this video because frankly I think your review was totally offf the mark, enough so I'm bringing it up here, now.

I can counter his negative review with a positive revew, if I don't agree with his. Just as he can counter my negative review with a positive review if he doesn't agree with mine. And the same goes for ya'll out there. None of the reviewers, that I know of, get paid, or compensated in any way, on ADT, and many of the DVDs reviewed by reviewers are bought with hard earned money, and getting a subpar disc, that you had to pay $20 or more for just plain sucks. You know I often get on your case about the technical aspects of some of your past releases' but this was, IMO a very good dvd. The scene with Sandra is fan-fuck'in-tastic. The only real problem I have with this release and a number of Assman and Debauchery titles is the poor lighting. Buy a brighter bulb for fuck sake! [Link] |

The answer is that I had absolutely NO chip at all. I picked this up to review because I truly thought I'd like it! That is the fact. However, I was really displeased with what I saw. I'm not getting personal here, so I don't want you to either. I'm gonna try to be objective about this. 1) The video was blurry. Not clear. Not sharp. Not vibrant. Blurry. That is a technical problem. 2) The scenes are poorly lit. There are lots of shadows. This makes it difficult to see detail. This is a technical problem. 3) The audio is okay, but (because it is gonzo), it is not spectacular. I didn't slam it, but I'm not gonna go wild over it either. These were my prime technical complaints. Now for the other problems: 4) The girls (and you can read the review to see that I like Melanie a lot) were not dressed or made up to look very good. This, for me, is a BIG issue. 5) One of the girls was dog ugly. Sorry, but it's the truth. 6) There is absolutely no tease in this flic, and I like tease. Subjective? Yep! 7) I felt like both the girls and the guys were just going through the motions. No sparks flying anywhere. For me, this is an issue. Now, when I add up these issues, it makes for a bad grade. This is my honest opinion. I wasn't paid to do this review. I wasn't cajoled into slamming it. I have had some e-mail conversations with Mike Johns discussing my points. He isn't flipping out on me. I've loved some of his other stuff, but this one just didn't cut the mustard (IMHO). Now, I don't think this can be construed as having a chip on my shoulder, but if that's the way you want to take it, I can't stop you. I can only tell you that it's not the fact. I'm not sure why it is that everyone is freaking out about this review. Haven't any of you ever watched something and thought it sucked? Did everyone else you know have to have the same opinion? If you don't agree with me, go ahead and review it yourselves! It's no skin off my teeth. Simple bottom line, I didn't like this DVD and I don't think it's worth buying. Period. [Link] |

I just don't remember UYA 20 being sub par in any respect. As I said before I'm going to give the DVD a once over after work to see if there was any problem with transfers or authoring.

When I read a review that says fuzzy picture poor lighting ect. it becomes an albatross to me and I have locate the source of the problem. My recall of editing the piece was a standard Mike John effort, putting the video well above the average FBI to FBI fill. As I said, after work today I'm going to go over it with a fine toothed comb. I'll either owe ABC a vote of gratitude or a review of his review. ABC has usually been on the money in his opinion and this one just threw me off balance.
