Usually, $500 is your floor for solo fetish scenes and it grows as you add more things to it (a guy, a girl, anal, etc.). Like any business, the more risk you take and the bigger your name, the more you get paid. Despite the testing protocols there is an inherent greater risk when you're being penetrated during intercourse than giving oral, thus the pay discrepancy. It's not a holdover from a different era, rather there's factually just more risk being taken. As for the idea of crossing over, I'm of two minds of it. I'll never begrudge a model for starting g/g and going over to b/g later for financial reasons. We live in a capitalist society and any time a woman can get ahead of the curve is a good thing. However, as a lesbian, we don't have a lot of girls representing us in the adult industry and on that note it's a bit disappointing. Click to expand I suspect a lot of fans don't understand how the industry works..... I see a lot of "Has ___________ quit? They haven't released any new scenes for months!!" Here's how the industry really works, and then people can make up their own minds about whether someone has quit or changed their direction: 1) models register with an agency, who represent them and act on their behalf in touting for business with production studios and pitching for work 2) agents contact producers and say "Hey, what kind of productions are you shooting in the next few months? I'll see if my talent pool can work for you" 3) producers say "I've got a few B/G anal scenes coming up, have you got any girls who work to that level?" 4) agents check through their listings, contact a few girls to confirm pitches and put forward names 5) producers make a judgement, and book a talent quite simple process really..... assuming the girls on the books perform to the levels of the bookings in Val's case, she's stunning to look at but will only work solo or G/G - the majority of porn producers shoot B/G as standard, which rules out at least 60% of the work going, meaning opportunities for Val are within that remaining 40%. Next up, producers will have girls in mind for certain scenes (i.e. G/G anal with a goth image or a hard fisting scene) so those scenes wouldn't work either.... which reduces the opportunities to less than 20% then there's the issue around dates, will Val be in LA or wherever the scenes are being shot, and does it clash with one of her other loves - travelling and partying.... if she's not in LA on the day of the shoot, she's not eligible either! I'd say that the reason Val isn't more actively booked is probably because she isn't available for most of the available shoots lined up, and she's only working solo or G/G so pretty much in terms of "big names", it's only really Girlsway/GirlfriendFilms and maybe a handful of Brazzers/LesbianX opportunities per year for G/G, with a couple of solo gigs for ATK etc too if Val wanted regular work, she'd move to LA and stop partying every weekend. until she does that, and/or ups her levels to include B/G, she's not going to be featured that much which is pretty much her career to date really. saying that, her personal life may mean she doesn't need to work, so why change anything if it's not broken right?
