I can honestly say that I have yet to see one that I HAVEN'T liked. They seem to put a lot into them, and have a varied stable of good directors, such as Passolini, Veronica Hart & Wit Maverick.

Some of my favorites:
Devil In Miss Jones 6, Touch Me, White Lightning, Cap'n Mongo's Porno Playhouse, Being With Juli Ashton, Idol Country, Barbara Broadcast

And let's not forget that voice-activated porn that they're busy
working on!

Some of their titles I love... others aren't my cup of tea. But they all seem to be made well, with attention to the details. Just a matter of finding the material that you enjoy.

I've enjoyed the majority of what I've seen, though I am still waiting for several Gregory Dark/Dark Bros. work to be released.

Antonio Passolini is a great director, much like Dark, but also different at the same time.

Yeah, VCA is putting out some great stuff, and Passolini is doing a great job (as is Veronica Hart, Wit, and Jim Holliday). I really like that they're doing so much to support day and date releases, although I'd like to see a little more uniqueness to their main menu and a few more extras. They also have one of the most consistent transfers out there (in a good way).

VCA is the source of four movies in my ten favorites list (Cafe Flesh 2, The Opening of Misty Beethoven, Torn, Wadd). I also give high marks to Barbara Broadcast (which I recently purchased at the Empire's year end clearance sale) and to Boot Black (which is a well-made and affordable gay disc). I've seen a few VCA titles that I would consider only average, but on the whole, their product is quality.

My main problem with VCA is that their older interactive discs (White Lighting, Chloe Cums First) won't easily play on my iMac due to extension conflicts. Unfortunately, I don't yet know which extensions are causing the trouble, so I haven't been able to resolve this issue. Maybe someday when I have a free afternoon (yeah, right!), I'll try turning them off one by one. Anyhow, I've been told it's not so likely to be a problem with their newer discs, so I'll be testing Get It in Gere in the near future.

I do agree VCA is certainly the most reliable features' company right now in terms of constant quality & vision (right along with Wicked, but I just don't like their contract girls). I used to be a Vivid fan, but I felt so ripped off by the quality of their DVDs lately (botched editing, fake multiple angles) that I'll only buy the occasional Paul Thomas now.
VCA has the greatest stable of directors out there, the best of which have already been cited by dumbblonde. You can always rely on Passolini for intense stroke material AND directorial vision, whether u like the performers or not. Jim Holiday does polished-chrome all-blondes silicone lick-a-thon like no other, not to mention one of my all-time favorite Julie Meadows.
Now, if they could bribe John Leslie back to features & sign Red Ezra, I'd be a customer for life.

i should be so lucky, lucky lucky lucky

Thanks for the props, gang!

We all appreciate your comments and the boss will be especially pleased. There is only so much control we have over the content, but the quality has always been job one, here.

I check out the posts here as often as I can. Your comments, favorable and un, are important to us.

Wit, any idea what happened to the interactive DVD beta test? I don't think any of the beta testers actually received the reward promised for participating in the test: thread.

Thanks!

I've noticed VCA has been releasing some of their 80's stuf on dvd lately. I'd love to see the compilations VCA put out on the WET VIDEO released on dvd of the ladies from the 70's and 80's

Best Of Erica Boyer 1-3 (WET/VCA)
Best Of Ginger Lynn 1-2 (WET/VCA)
Best Of Amber Lynn 1-2 (WET/VCA)
Best Of Vanessa (Del Rio) 1-4 (WET/VCA)

There are a lot more that I did not mention (Christy Canyon etc.
VCA put out a lot of these on the WET label, some of the above titles have anywhere from 1-5 volumes which I'd love to see on dvd. Any chance of seeing these on disc? I'd buy them all for sure.
I'd also likie to see the Dark Brothers stuff on disc, the Let Me Tell Ya Bout White/Black Chics movies were great, as was White Bun Busters (Ginger Lynn's d.p. in that movie was awesome). How about seeing some of that stuff on disc, UNCUT of course, (with the Traci Lords stuff being the exception)

I agree. VCA has put out lots of good material, it's just a shame they haven't gotten my favorites on DVD yet - 'Cyberanal' and 'Not the Loving Kind' come to mind. Oh, well.

I stopped watching VCA movies after they went condom-only. Their movies was too soft for my taste anyway.

Special thanks to Henri Pachard, for taking notice of this thread in his recent article, "Adult Groups Big on VCA Quality."

Yeah. That is cool. But there's more than two directors who post here. Reguraly, less, no doubt, but lots of people are lurking out there.

Great link, Yogagrrl, I wouldn't have found that article on my own.

FYI: We have started releasing some older titles on our Xplicit lable. These include Xplcit and WET titles. So, M.B. look for some of your favorite titles to come out over the next year or so. The good news about this line, too, is that they are cheaper than the new releases.

Saaki: I will follow up on the Beta Swag today! I forwarded all the information on the testers to the marketing department over a month ago. You should have recieved your well deserved rewards, soon. We *really* appreciated everyone's help on the successful beta test.

Hardware: Thanks for the reccomedations, we always welcome reccomendations from consumers and take them into all the planning meetings. Sometimes, they get held up (Diesel, I know, I know...DMJ 5) because special editions are being planned, but we do want to get to all of them. NOT THE LOVING KIND should be out the 1st half of next year.

Thanks, too to YogaGrrl for the link to Henri's article. He is absolutley right about the impact you all have on promoting quality product and calling us to stand by our product.

Wit,
Thanks for the reply. I know VCA has a large catalog and only so much production capacity. May I suggest that if there is ever a question about what order to release older material in, you consider doing a poll here to get a feel for the demand for the 'competing' products.

Wit can I assume that when DMJ 5 is finaly released on dvd it will be some sort of special edition? I can tell you right now that if there was a poll on what VCA should release first from their catalog my vote would go for DMJ 5 followed by Michael Ninn's Decadence.(I marvel at the fact that this has not been released on dvd yet)

Fans definitely owe Wit Maverick and VCA a debt of gratitude for their simply superb transfers and releases of classics like THE CATWOMAN, THE TEASE, SEX 1 and 2, THE OPENING OF MISTY BEETHOVEN and so many others. No other studio has given us the visual clarity and audio quality of a standard VCA title.

However, I do have a question: There is another mail-order website that apparently has the DVD rights to several VCA movies under the Wet label, including FORBIDDEN BODIES. The quality of these DVDs is below average and close to unacceptable. Does VCA have any control over these titles?

Thanks again for everything, Wit!

BigMike: I love the poll idea (I have one in my office, you know - oh not that kinda poll). We'll get a list together of titles we're looking at and look for your feedback.

Gold Member: I've had egg on my face before, but I'll go out on a limb and say that DMJ 5 will be *some Kind* of special edition.

Diesel: We have not released the title you mention and are looking into our rights regarding competing releases of it. Which brings up an important point. Now, I'm not saying it applies in this case, but if anyone has any info regarding possible piracy, we would be most grateful (read REWARD) for information.

Seargant: Send us the info about your vid. store and we'll see if we can stock him up.

Peace,

Wit

Thanks, but in all fairness it was Hardware's idea, I just thought I'd second it.

But I really do think that that is a great idea. Nothing better than fan feedback. & I know that you have a large back catalog of releases, to be put on DVD. But it could very well help to get feedback.

I, unfortunately, can not recommend that many titles, but I would really, truly, seriously, be happy to see Greg Dark's work.

Oh, and I don't know if you remember, but did you find out if the disc I sent was bootlegged? This was a few(?) months back.

Thanks for the correction and thanks Hardware.

As for the disc you sent, We found it was not pirated. What you actually got was one of the origianl pressings of CF2, it was discontinued for no other reason than that we improved the replication and disc art.

Thank you for bringing it to our attention, all the same.

I finally had a chance to test a copy of Get It in Gere in my Mac last night, and it plays perfectly! I don't know what you're doing differently, Wit, but thanks for fixing the problem! Nice work.

Hey Mr. Maverick-- I noticed in your AVN ad you're releasing five, cheap and nasty, VCA Xplicit titles on DVD; 4 of which I shot: Casting Couch Cuties, Sport Fucks, Black Tail Shooters, and Anal Addiction. I don't think I shot Euro Anal Sluts, but I might have (they all blur together).

Do I get residuals?
