A couple of months ago that wouldn't have meant a thing to me, but now I a. know who Nikki Dial is and b. appreciate how much of a godsend compilations like this one can be. On top of being a money saver, they often times are the only resource you have to see scenes from features that are unavailable now. VCA's Deep Inside series is a bit peculiar though. Why? Well, it kicked ass. With compilations, you usually get a mish-mash of truncated scenes that leave you wondering, "Fuck. What movie was that from? Did they even say? Who were those performers?" and realizing that the company that made the tape was just trying to score a quick buck. However, Deep Inside actually had some effort put into them. In the ones I've seen, the girl of the film would be interviewed, displaying more of her personality to her fans as well as giving anecdotes about the scenes we get to watch, and she would end the tape by starring in a new "fantasy scene" filmed specifically for the comp (I don't know if the earliest volumes were like that though). These scenes could be hot, like Brittany O'Connell's mini-anal gangbang, or not, like PJ Sparx's mundane all-girl orgy. But the presence of that bonus was always that much more of an incentive to check the tape out. The Nikki Dial one will be the 32nd Deep Inside... they've transferred to DVD. While that seems like a lot, they still have 13 volumes (Kaitlyn Ashley, Tiffany Mynx, Kelly Odell, Tiffany Million, Shanna McCullough, Savanna, Nicole London, Deidre Holland, Selena Steele, Vanessa Del Rio, Victoria Paris, Hyapatia Lee, and Keisha) to go before they have them all on DVD. I wasn't expecting this Nikki Dial DVD at all, but now I am hoping that they have DVD releases of the Victoria Paris, Keisha, and Hyapatia Lee volumes in the works. I wanted to e-mail VCA (eh, LFP) and ask, but I couldn't find any appropriate contact information on the official websites (LFP, Hustler, or VCA). Incidentally, could you see any of the all-sex companies doing a compilation series like this for the prolific girls of today? Deep Inside Haley Paige or Katja Kassin perhaps? Hell, she's only been around for a couple of months but all ready New Sensations could do it for Sunny Lane. With the type of stuff the girls get asked in pre-scene interviews and the sides of a girl's personality we get to see in the seemingly mandatory BTS segment on all of the DVDs, I don't think it would be as effective today. Plus, VCA was a contract girl company and the girls they did installments for were supposed to be "stars". It was a by-product of the system that the current all-sex companies replaced. Yeah, she was a bit of a dodger, but all of the girls I like from the late 80s or early 90s were. If you want to see Nikki's best, just check out any scene where she worked with Tom Byron. Those two seemed to have great chemistry, and he usually put a finger or two up her ass which she seemed to love. That said, she wasn't always gold because I have seen a couple of scenes where she was somewhat mediocre. juha- True, but when was the last time Anabolic put out a volume of A Cumsucking Whore Named... ? May of 2004. And before that they hadn't put out one since late 2003. Now, I'm glad that they appear to have put the series to rest if for no other reason than because I always hated that horrible title, but it's not like they haven't had strong candidates for a new volume (Melody, Ariana Jollee). Maybe they and companies like them don't do one-girl-centered comps. for the same reason that they don't advertize first anals or DPs anymore: they think it would make them look out of dates. I'm simply saying that if you used VCA's Deep Inside as a model you could actually put out quality compilations (oxymoron?) that would be a service to fans of whatever girl featured per volume. Instead, we get once primarily feature companies like Sin City and JKP shipping out ridiculous amounts of crappy, Vivid-caliber comps. and all-sex companies like Anabolic and NJ Films highlighting male performers/directors over any one girl with Lex in Black Bastard (now dormant) and Jon Dough in Jon Dough's Favorite... I might for my Goddess, but I am strange that way. I think VCA needs to update the series. Nina Hartley has volume 2, many other stars could have as many as 4 or 5. The shoots are long since paid for, as well as the editing and rendering. Just throw the files into a DVD author and it's pretty much done. Either they feel the return isn't even worth that minimal effort or they don't want to create confusion about their products. Companies like RLD don't actually own everything, so a comp would have to be director by director. [Link] |
