I'm sure there's lots of porn-watchers out there besides me who've noticed how CRAP a lot of the chapter selection menus are on porn DVDs and how few chapter breaks there sometimes are.
It's a real pain in the ass having to scan-search every time for your favourite scene, or even favourite part of a particular scene, so much so that I've come to the conclusion that in the worst cases, it's easiest just to copy the best bits onto a VHS tape (provided the disks aren't copy-protected) and then just watch the tape, dispensing with the DVD altogether.

It seems to me that a lot of DVD producers take very little care in structuring the chapter select functions. I've even had disks where a scene selection will take you to the beginning of a scene, then if you advance it by one scene you end up slap in the MIDDLE of the NEXT scene. Stuff like that. It's a fucking disgrace really - surely it would be just as easy to get it right?!

Another annoying thing is when you have a longish scene (say 20 mins) and no possibility of just skipping the less interesting bits (like drawn-out introductory talking / teasers, 2 minute genital close-ups etc.) and are forced to scan view until you get to the better stuff. A real pain in the ass sometimes.

And of course sometimes being forced to sit through all the copyright / custodian of records shit at the beginning, without even the possibility of fast scanning through it.

Anyone agree? How about naming any porn films (or companies) with particularly bad (or good) DVD chapter search functions?

Evil Angel, IMO, has excellent chapter functions.

If the chapters are really bad I just rip and encode the disc to my hard drive. Media PLayer's scan bar is great imo.
