| Mojo Deactivated User 1223 Posts 9/03 | I'm into making my own DVDs, but I've found a problem. I need to put some widescreen WMVs onto disk, but none of my programs will do the job properly. I've got both MAGIX and Roxio 7. MAGIX will do widescreen, but it takes 8+ hours to do about 20 or 30 minutes in WMV format (!!!!), whilst my Roxio is really quick with WMVs but wont do different picture ratios. Try to do anything other than square pictures with Roxio 7 and it just squashes the picture up. So, is there a program out there which will do WMVs quick like Roxio, but will also do different picture ratios like widescreen? Will later Roxios do it, or maybe Nero? Or is there a program on the market that I've overlooked? Thanks. :) [Link] |

There may be a way to change that setting, but I doubt it. I suggest you post your question on one of the Forums at http://www.cdfreaks.com/ If those guys don't have an answer, there probably isn't one. |

But (ah...the big but) it 'squeezed' the frame, rather than 'mailboxing' it, which is what Mojo is trying to avoid. BTW, I prefer to use MPEG2 footage whenever possible, so I use the WinDVD Creator II program to convert WMV files to MPEG2 files. I've also found a way to convert xxx.VOB files to MPEG2 files. It's the only DVD creator program I've found that will 'open' a XXX.VOB file. |
