HD videos really suck quality is blurry and pixelized both sites are passing of 540p videos stretched to 720p. I had 2 1 month premium to Videobox I feel cheated by these really low quality videos who ever is encoding these videos for these sites need to be fired these video are not HD stop lying to everyone. Another thing these crappy videos are 1.2gb to 1.8gb no so called HD video on these sites should be over 700mb and no 480p video should be over 550mb. I have seen a few 480p videos 800mb+ WTF. Unfortunately they have bowed to the usual 2 or 3 insistent 'please lower the quality of your vids so I dont have to buy another hard drive' trolls. Now their HD scenes are unwatchable. [Link]
pat362 Senior Member 10083 Posts 3/10	Posted - Jun 10 2013 : 7:18PM ^&^^ I don't know if you have realised this but a very high percentage of the movies on VB and VideosZ were made prior to the advent of HD and therefore they can't be released in HD. They can try to remaster an older movie but that will only clean some of the static that was on the movie and not actually increase resolution. [Link]

I mean literally, they closed off the customer support contact pages. They really don't care and I'll give them another 1.5 years before the site totally becomes bargain bin crap like an XMOVIES type site. 3 years max before they are out of business unless they make some drastic changes. Videosz has always been pretty lame. When they used to have the 2 day trial for like $3, I would sign up and download all the scenes I wanted from the past 6 months, but since they cut that out I've never signed up again. You are better off going direct to the studio website or just watching scenes on VOD. [Link]

The main difference now is that the content being added is not as good as past stuff but then again why is anyone surprised. The same can be said for most of todays porn. Why would sites like VB and VideosZ not be affected by the Tube Sites when every other site is. The day people started to get their porn fix from Tube Sites was the day porn started to go down. Since more people get their porn from crappy tube sites today then the faster porn is going down. VB is 12$ a month for over 10,000 movies and people are still looking for the free stuff. I've been a member of both sites a couple of times but I don't bother anymore because I prefer older porn and both sites don't really update with that kind of porn. These days they mostly use leased material that I already have or stuff that I never wanted. [Link]

They obviously cannot acquire the rights to most brand new material so their business model relies on the strength of offering older videos that sometimes cannot even be acquired direct at a high quality. The problem is there are literally hundreds of videos on their website with broken downloads. This is a long read, but worth it if you are considering joining Videobox read first: Let me just give you one simple example. Let's say I'd seen the movie "1 in the Pink, 1 in the Stink 9" on Hotmovies VOD. Let's say I only liked one scene with Katrina Isis so I'm not sure I want to shell out money for the whole DVD. Now I could continue burning up VOD minutes, but at a high cost that wouldn't be economical. So I start Google searching sites to download just the one scene (legally). Clubredlight.com has nothing when I search for Katrina Isis or the title. So I do some more Google searching and find this seemingly great website called Videobox that apparently has it for download along with many other DVDs and they say they have it in high resolution. I sign up and download Katrina's scene at their highest resolution available called "DVD WMV" (64 hex 480). Okay, now we all know 64 hex 480 is nowhere close to DVD resolution, but that's good enough for me and comparable to the Hotmovies "ULTRA" I was watching it on anyway. My download finally finishes, I open up the file and see this: (Note: This is an actual screen capture from a file I personally downloaded from Videobox.com and still have on my computer) WTF?!! Yup, unfortunately the playback is buggy as fuck. I go to the website's tech support and file a complaint, but I don't get a response at all. I go back and try to download it again, maybe it was just a download error... No fix. I then realize it has nothing to do with my own computer's codec pack, or a just a download interruption error, it's that the website operators actually ripped the scene with a bad codec or ripping software. The same problem occurs intermittently throughout the website and mainly affects their highest resolution. The only download resolution that is bug free 100% of the time is the crappy H.264 MP4 which is a low 200-300MB file which would look grainy even on my cellphone screen. Sure, most movies stream just fine, but if all I wanted to do was stream I could have stayed on VOD and been watching newer scenes and 1 hex the content that won't get to Videobox for years if ever. I think it's a great site for casual porn fans but if you're a hardcore (no pun intended) porn fan who needs to see the newest movies and only wants to watch porn in high quality HD and has set high standards VIDEOBOX probably isn't for you. I think it's a great site and I'm mostly happy with it. They've actually improved things alot since I first joined. They've got over 16,000 movies at this point and a very reasonable base price. For me personally, even if they didn't update everyday I'd still remain a member because they have so much content I'd never get around to even watching all the stuff I consider good stuff. The daily updates are a reflection of what's happening in porn. There simply aren't as many new releases coming out and there's more and more companies simply re-realising old content. I see some people complaining about the picture quality but I have to think for the average porn watcher they have no problem with the quality. The majority of stuff I watch from the site seems to be at least DVD quality (I watch streaming on my big screen HD tv) and looks about as good as my DVDs. Yeah, sometimes the scenes freeze up or don't work but they seem to fix them within a normal amount of time and the majority of the time the scenes are just fine. I have no idea about customer service because I've haven't had to contact them in a long while. Like I said it's not a site for every kind of porn watcher but what they offer for the money charge in comparison to other sites I think they're great. [Link]

They still offer plenty of new material but the bulk of it is on their specialty channels so you have to pay more than 12$ to get access to it. The problem is that it might be cheaper to simply sign up to the studios site instead of buying the extra channel or you get a few more movies on the studio's site. The reason why they don't offer a lot of new content is simply because there is now new content being filmed. Just think of the number of companies that still produce dvd's (the bread and butter of VB) and you'll see why there just isn't enough content from that source to fill one week's worth of updates so let alone a month or longer. That's why most of their updates are either older titles or dvd's that contain scenes available on many European sites. Let me just give you one simple example. Europe has PAL with 768x576 pixels, but if they were shot with an NTSC camera, no higher res is available.... I'm talking about vertical resolution, mind you. All DVD source have 720 pixels in the horizontal resolution, it only depends on the target aspect ratio if they get squished to 640 pixels (4x3 NTSC) or stretched to 854 pixels (16x9 NTSC), 768 pixels (4x3 PAL) or 1024 pixels (16x9 NTSC). And again, apart from resolution, bitrate is everthing. With modern codecs (h.264 etc.) you get decent results for DVD-Quality at about 800-1200 kbps. Original DVD (with the much older MPEG 2 codec) needs 4000-6000 kbps. 720p with modern codecs should use also around the same value (4-6mbps), while 1080p should use at around 10 mbps. If you go significantly lower, you'll end up with pixelation (or macroblocks). Still, HD download bitrates are nothing compared to Blu-ray rates, or broadcast HD streams, which use a video bitrate close to 50mbps (and it shows!). But I guess noone would want to download 40G for a 3hour flick. [Link]

They have been improving with Evil Angel releases, but when you consider the limited supply, crappy resolutions, and update frequency, why on Earth would I pay $12 for the channel when I can go to evilangel.com and get a membership to 5x the content for 15? I can tell you just from that one DVD I listed, all but one of the 5 scenes have this problem, only the Rebecca Linares scene works on that site for download. This problem effects multiple DVDs, multiple studios. There are also plenty of DVD resolution downloads that are cut short due to an encoding issue. For example, the full scene will be 900MB 26 minutes... you download the full 900MB but the scene is only 14 minutes and there is no way to create a custom scene or otherwise to get the rest of it. Sure this problem might only affect 5% of their total DVDs, and the other 95% is fine, but that isn't the point. The point is when you are already struggling in a declining industry to make a profit, regardless of what content you have, if you are making these types of simple correctable mistakes and you ignore your customers requests for help or suggested improvements, your business will fail, period. I don't see how anyone can logically disagree with this last statement. [Link]

In fact I don't know if there is a similar site as VB that will meet them. I think the only solution is for you to join the studio site directly because they are probably the only ones that will offer the content early enough. It stands to reason that any studio still producing porn today will wait as long as possible before making their movies available to VB or VideosZ. They make pittance when their movies are on those sites while they make a lot more money from people joining their site Mind you since you were discussing a Red Light movie than the only thing I can suggest is that you try VideosZ. They are the next best thing after VB and they have the movie you are interested in. [Link]

Click to expand You are right about the resolution. I am not too technical when it comes to video. I guess the problem is VB rips many of their older 4:3 DVDs at 64 hex 480 resolution scenes at 250 Kbps. For newer widescreen scenes available in HD, Videobox's version of "HD" is 1296x720 @ 5872 Kbps. Evil Angel direct max resolution is an MP4 192 hex 1080 @ 7414 Kbps. Click to expand You clearly were not a member of VB very long, because a year ago their bitrate for their 'HD' videos was about 5800 kbps which made them watchable and actually pretty good quality for a remastering in HD. Now, their 'HD' bitrate is under 4k, which makes their HD vids completely unwatchable, pixelated, and a waste of time. [Link]

Right now I am downloading three 720P (large files) the download speeds are 130 kbps 45 kbps and 32 kbps! I have a 90 mps connection. They did give me access to Evil Angel premium for my troubles but I am already a member there and could probably download 50 files from EA in the time it takes to download 1 file from Videobox.
