I'm a subscriber of SugarInstant and absolutely love it, the content streams flawlessly, it's reasonably priced and it comes with a free Roku channel. I had technical issues with AdultEmpireUnlimited & Fyre TV so I'm looking for one more "Netflix" style adult streaming site with content from a variety of studios and that has a Roku channel included with membership and it sounds like Videobox might be it.
I've been reading more on Videobox and it sounds interesting to me as it sounds like the same idea as Sugar Instant. The price sounds really good at only $96 for the entire year but am not too sure how reputable it is compared to the larger studio sites. I would hate to join and then see charges that I did not authorize to on my statement or reach out to customer support should I have a problem and not receive a reply. The majority of reviews I have read have been positive and they did win an XBIZ award back in 2012 but I'm still a bit hesitant to join.

Before I take the plunge I'd like to know:
1) If the Roku channel works well and streams content quickly.
2) If customer service responds promptly
3) How the streaming works, does content play back?
4) If downloads work, will the scenes download quickly?
I'll check them out on Free Porn Day, but I'd also like your thoughts if they are worth joining afterwards
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

To begin. VB is a repository of other studios porn so you can't really compare them to porn producing studios because they don't produce any. I haven't joined in a couple of years but I still visit at least once a month to see what they have added. The main reason why I stopped joining is that it became obvious that as studios slowed their production that VB would have a bigger and bigger problem regularly uploading new content on a regular basis. Their answer to that dilemma is that they started to upload videos whose content is basically videos from internet only studios. That can be a major advantage to a newbie but someone like me who has already joined the site where that content was produced isn't going to want to download it again. Another problem is that there was always a certain level of duplication within the different studios on VB's site. After all many studios bought the same content but repackaged it differently. Therefore you might find the exact same scene in more than one video. That's even more obvious with the newer studios offering internet content.
Now in response to your questions. I checked a recent review and here is what I can tell you.
1- The Roku streaming was laggy. Especially during peak hours.
2- I can't confirm whether or not customer is fast because I have no experience and neither did the reviewer. Of course speed is a subjective thing. I think that 24 to 48hrs can be acceptable in certain circumstances.
3-For answer on streaming. See reply to question #1.
4-Downloads are excellent and don't seem to be affected by peak hours issues.
The site is huge and the join price is ridiculous so there is no excuse not to join for at least one month. Just be advised that the 12$ does not include every channel. You will have to spend a lot more to get Evil Angel and Elegant Angel content but for someone who has never joined either sites. The added cost is negligible for what you will get for your money.

They removed WMV option and their mp4 quality is very very low.

^The main reason they replaced the older WMV with MP4 is because MP4 is a far superior video format. The change in video format is not the reason for the reduction in video quality so much as the source material was never all that great to begin with. A large portion of VB's library is material that was shot a decade ago or older and that's why it won't look anywhere as good as the stuff that has been made since then.

You are wrong about that, they didn't re-encode older materials, they were offered wmv files in DVD quality and also mp4 files with lower quality, they simply removed their best quality videos. This is not about format, their mp4 files are simply bad.
