Not everybody loves Greg Lansky - I know I do! - but one thing that you can't take away from him is his love for scripted vignette-style porn. I'd like to see more of this. In the 90's, it was much more common that hardcore, anal-oriented porn flicks were made in this fashion (notably those made by Private, like the "Triple X" and "Private Video Magazine" series). Nowadays, it seems like a porn flicks are always made in either one of two very distinct styles, with a huge divide between them: either "serious" and very ambitious features, or the genre that we still call "gonzo" even though it doesn't have much to do with the fun and fresh style of the original gonzo porn flick ("The Adventures of Buttman"). I think both these polarities are boring. The nice thing with vignette-style porn is that it makes you care just a little bit about the people involved in the scene and why they are going to hook up, just enough so that when they actually get to have sex, a couple of minutes into the scene, you feel a greater satisfaction. It's not that way at all with the "gonzo" scenes - even though some of them can be really, really hot and nice to watch - where you see a girl in a bikini and one or two guys, and they smile and touch each other and immediately they undress and have sex. That's alright, but sometimes it's nice to be lured into the film, into the drama of the sex. Just a little bit, just some sort of scenery, some characters with some motives (not just... bodies), some action that leads up to sex. I think it could be fun for the performers, too. If you look at old Rocco Siffredi movies, it's clear that he loves to act. Correct me if I'm wrong - I might not be 100 percent up to date with the newest directors and trends - but I think there is a great lack of these vignette-style porn flicks. At least there is a lack of it when it comes to anal porn, which is the kind of porn I'm most interested in. I guess it's another thing with cuddly couples-oriented porn or lesbian porn, but I'm not so interested in those fields. If you know any examples of good anal-themes vignette porn, I would be grateful for your recommendations. Also, I'd like to know what everyone else thinks about vignette-style porn?
(OK, I'm aware of the fact that a lot of today's gonzo flicks have tease and/or interviews in the beginning of the scene, and in other words they don't start with the sex immediately. But these scenes are still very far from scripted vignettes. The performers in these scenes portay themselves, more or less. Everything is "real". No drama, no prolonged satisfaction for the viewer, no touch of finesse.)

My reservation against scripts is the fact that these scripts take too much out of the steam. It's like the girls go in acting like robots to get their deal done. I swear I don't like robots. I never cared about Michael Jackson either.

There's really nothing natural about it. You need a goddamn great milliondollar script and some skyscraper or atomic bomb or WW2 to get it done. That doesn't happen in Chatsworth.
Haha, I disagree. A super-simple script like the one in the hot-yet-charming "Butt banged hitchhiking whores" (1999) does the trick (the whole plot is in the title). Is it more "natural" when two people have sex 30 seconds after the start of a scene, for no other reason than the fact that they are getting paid for it?

In Barely Legal segment of society, script is only real as long as fellow is put behind bars. Therefore I used to go for JJ/Erik Everhard's Jailbait DVDS, for whatever action I wanted to see.
Haven't seen the Jailbait series, but now when I read some reviews it seems that every scene in these flicks actually have a little story. Thanks, I'll check it out!

Yeah, that's classic actresses doing great fucking script work rehearsed thru and thru, I think this will set your standards right.
I am a huge fan of scenario based porn because at it's core porn is for the most part pure fantasy. That's why I think that having performers play a role in a vignette type scene as opposed to being themselves can add a different flavor to what would normally be two well known performers fucking. This is especially true when you consider that most performers have worked with each other before and have also done about the same thing they will do in the vignette type scene. That's the good news with vignette porn. The bad news is that the vast majority of vignette porn scenes are not very good. Too often there is no imagination behind the scenario, there is no appropriate dialogue, the characters aren't well defined, the pre-sex stuff is so short that it doesn't add anything positive to the actual sex part of the scene and frankly the talent in front and behind the camera is simply not capable of actually doing a decent job with scenario based porn. That said I don't think most porn companies give the producer of vignette porn enough time or budget to do anything better than what most of them wind up putting out.
This is so true. And yeah, it's a shame the producers and the companies don't encourage this from the directors or performers. With no budget and no time, it must be very difficult to create interesting and well-done scenarios.
^I understand why companies are unwilling and in many cases unable to actually put a lot of money into shooting scenario porn because they already make so little profit from producing gonzo porn that investing a lot more money can literarily mean that they won't have any money left to produce more porn. Part of the problem is that gonzo porn sells so why would any studio shoot anything else when they make money with the stuff they currently shoot.
Honestly, it's kinda weird to read a topic about "bringing back vignette porn" when it never went anywhere in the first place. Brazzers is still arguably the most well known porn site on the internet, and the vast majority of the scenes they produce are still vignette porn. Not to mention the dozens of other studios that still make it, and have been making it for years. As far as anal-themed vignette porn, I know Naughty America has a series on their site called "My Girl Loves Anal" that updates every 2-4 weeks or so. Brazzers also produces anal vignette scenes every couple weeks, and I believe that Reality Junkies has an anal themed vignette series as well (but I'm not sure on that one).
I prefer individual vignette scenes to full length story movies, partly because the limited acting ability of porn actors is less likely to affect my enjoyment of the former. However, it's important that whatever roles or characters are being portrayed then carry over into the sex. If a girl is playing an innocent inexperienced character like a schoolgirl, for example, it's no good if two minutes later she's gaping and taking a huge object up the ass or whatever - and I have seen scenes like that.
Thank you for your recommendations, but I'm not a fan of sites like Brazzers - I like my porn on DVD's (even though the scenes in these DVD's sometimes, like in the case with Tushy, seem to come from a site). I might be old fashioned, but I get the feeling that site-only porn is not as well produced as the best DVD flicks. But I see now that Naughty America's anal series (not just "My girl loves anal" but also "In the butt" and "In thru the backdoor") have been made into DVD's, and when I read some reviews, they seem kind of nice.
