What is the virtual memory recommendation? I heard that is twice your physical memory a.k.a RAM. For instance if you have a 1 GB of RAM (1024 MBs) then you should set your virtual memory to 2048. Now I also heard that you should set both the minimun and maximun the same value so in this case 2048 being the minimun and maximun virtual memory.

Anybody knows?

Thanks.

ps. I asked coz I just jumped from 768 MBs PC2100 to 1024 Mbs PC3200 Dual Channel (Corsair XMS series baby :P) lol

can't really answer that unless you give your layout of drives and partitions you've got available for paging.

Got 2 Hard drives.

Primary HD is partitioned in 3s:

C - 19.5 GB
F - 68.3 GB
G - 98.3 GB

Secondary HD

F - 9.76
G - 64.7

Any help?

What are you running that requires more than 1GB of RAM? I wouldn't change the virtual memory settings unless you're sure that your system is running out of RAM.

You can check by right clicking the task bar. Select Task Manager from the popup context menu. Go to the Performance tab. On the performance tab there should be an area with Physical Memory stats. If the Available number is less than 100k then you might need to change your virtual memory settings to increase performance. I'd just add more RAM to the system though.
