| lromay Member 25 Posts 4/06 |  Posted - Nov 16 2006 : 7:54AMAs I am currently undergoing a epic clean-up operation of my computer using an online volunteer site, I thought this would be a good time to get a catalogue of advice on how to go onto sites like this without it trying to slow/molest/beat up/kill your hard-drive. This is from the advice site; Many disreputable sites will attempt to install malware on your system through "drive-by" exploits just by visiting the site in your browser. Lyrics sites, free software sites (especially ones that target young children), cracked software sites, and pornography sites are some of the worst offenders. Questions; Do you run a risk of infection on ALL porn-sites? (inclucing this one)? If anyone has worries about certain locations, now the time to air them. Which browsing practices are regarded as strictly a no-no? Who has had particularly bad experiences or particularly trouble-free ones? In your cases why do you think this is? [Link] |

That alone can save you from a lot of it. Of course, when you do that, there are quite a few links and so forth that won't work but it's a pretty small price to pay for a little prevention. [Link] |
