Yes. If they have questions, I'll tell them to look it up. They can read into it for themselves and make up their own minds about what's happening here. I don't care if I don't succeed in getting them to cancel. But I will try. Visa can throw their weight around. Customers can choose not to do business with them because of it. If Visa wanted to do this moralizing bullshit, they should have never started doing business with online porn companies in the first place. Edited by - randomprecision on 6/5/2012 10:55:04 PM
Exactly my point they have issues for what? Something they don't like? Is it legal? What they actually do is to prevent me from buying something who is legal to buy, techincally refusing to honor a check of mine because they don't like the receiver it is not an issue with Brazzers AND me , it is an issue with everyone who can't use his money the way he wants. Can't you see this is a trojan horse,if we allow this to pass then we agreed for them to filter our purchases to only what they deem fit THEIR STANDARDS not even the law they're not the sellers nor the buyer , they're a money transfer , just that BTW I have a Mastercard too , so I wouldn't have a problem with PSP, I'm not interested in their stuff though

No, they're a business. As a business, they can go into partnership with whom they wish; it's their decision. If they feel that something associated with them (in this case Brazzers' Pornstar Punishment) is not to their liking, or doesn't sit comfortably with perceived brand ethics, it's their right to cut their association with them. It may not please you, but companies are entitled to endorse or associate with whomever they wish. They are not a government body nor a charity, they make corporate decisions to further their business standing. If they do not want to see their logo associated with something "immoral" that's their choice. Your choice as a customer is to accept that, or find an alternative.
^ Partnership? Is Visa partner with Brazzers? Or I signed a contract with them? Who is their client? Who is the one they are providing their service? It's me not Brazzers , a Credit Card is an instrument to allow ME to pay , they're aren't refusing a partnership with Brazzers they are preventing ME from buying , choosing what I can or can't buy. A bank is in the same line of business , if i sign a check to pay you and my bank refuses to pay because they don't like you what would you say? And what if your bank refuses to get the check because they don't like what you sold? Also VISA didn't refuses payment for any other Brazzers site just PSP so they maintain their "partnership" with Brazzers they're just forcing them not to sell what they don't like

Just a point of reference in general. The credit card in your pocket is not actually yours, it's actually the issuers and by accepting it, you're actually agreeing to their terms and conditions, and its surrenderable on demand.

No, it's actually their money that they are loaning you, AKA a revolving line of credit, hence the term "credit" card. They aren't "technically" anything let alone refusing "your" check.
I generally do agree with this. But the problem is that Visa controls a huge swath of this particular business. They are throwing their weight around because they can and they know that doing so will have an effect on the things people spend their money on. It gets more complicated to pay for this stuff if you can't use your credit card. And they evidently do know that by doing so, they can influence Brazzers product. This may be technically legit but it's a shitty thing to do. If they lose customers because of it, they deserve it. Technically, yes. I guess you can just switch cards. For now. I don't know why Brazzers is letting them bully them. Is Visa the only company they can use? Edited by - randomprecision on 6/6/2012 11:01:21 AM
And exactly what their service is? Ok they loan some money to ME then I spend the money they loaned to me ( which is MINE at that point) in any way I want again they loan money only if it is spent the way they deem fit?
^ this is perfectly clear , it is also clear that I PAY to get a service , they loan me some money and that is the service I pay, my point is can they argue with each of my expenses? I mean LEGAL expenses

^You seem to have EXTREME trouble understanding something pretty simple: A company can choose how it wants to run its business, and who it wants to work with. You sign an agreement (as you did when you signed the paperwork to get your card), having read through the pages and pages of small-print (you DO read all of that, don't you?!), and that's it. Ultimately, they are not in it for you; they are in business for their own pockets. If Visa does not wish to continue its association with Pornstar Punishment, it won't. Simple. You are not owed an explanation, and if there is one, or a get-out somewhere, it is probably in the small-print somewhere on the paperwork you signed to get your card. My guess is their thinking is along the lines of: Visa and simulated borderline rape doesn't fly so well in public image stakes, so best to to pull any association forthwith. Again: You play by their rules to use their facilities. Don't like it... tough.

An instrument that (if it's a Visa card) exists because Visa has decided to make it available to you, under their terms and conditions. No different than any other service.

I get the feeling there is a lot more to this story that has not been raised. I can use my Visa card to purchase adult content that is far worse than anything that Brazzers publishes on their website and you can’t tell me Visa is unaware of this. Out of curiosity, a few years ago, I picked up a sealed adult nudist magazine titled NATURALLY from a Borders bookstore and when I opened it I was shocked to see completely nude images of families with children who were also naked, including many pre-teens. Visa has to know the company that sells this magazine has such content and it is about as controversial, borderline criminal as you can get yet they will process transactions with naked children in it. Here is their order form if you doubt me with the Visa card accepted as a form of payment: Internaturally order form Some executives at Visa have a beef with Brazzers, that is what this amounts to. Why? I do not know.
VISA has a list of things they prohibit. But it makes a big difference whether you have your own merchant account or use a thirdparty payment service processor (a PSP). Also VISA USA and VISA Europe have different policies. What it all comes down to, is that allthough many merchants accept VISA (which looks all the same to you as a consumer) behind the scenes there can be many different systems. VISA does not check each individual merchant, only the ones who want their own merchant account. The payment service processors are supposed to check their customers for obeying the rules and some PSPs are, let's call it 'more lenient' than others. Jacco
Question still unanswered who is Visa customer? The card holder or the merchant? also I'm under Visa Europe , we might have differences in some parts due to different laws

^As I said, they're not a charity; they provide the service because their percentages make them money (a lot of money). Edited by - Dubious_Leftovers on 6/7/2012 8:30:24 AM
^If you have never had a credit card of any kind or financed anything then your credit rating is non-existant. If there comes a day when you want to buy a house then there is a very good chance that the bank will not lend you the money because they don't have any info on what kind of credit risk you are or aren't. It may sound weird but it's a good thing to have a credit card where you buy articles with it that you could have paid cash for but instead wait until you get your CC invoice and then pay that. This way you start to build a credit rating.
^ I understand all of that. When the time comes, I'll do it. Right now, there's no point. In the meantime, all of my friends are completely unnecessarily overwhelmed with credit card debt. (I also managed to "pass" a credit check for the house I currently live in. It's a rental house in my name, and they just sort of shrugged that my score was zero. So, I've managed to get to this age with no credit card, and yet I have a car, a house to live in, and a degree of financial security thanks to working a gazillion jobs).
I have two of them , a Visa and a Mastercard linked to two different bank accounts but here we mostly use a "bancomat" which is a card directly linked with your bank account , so you don't lean money you pay with yours in real time, no interests, the bank operation have a price though, to buy online I usually pay through Paypal except for porn of course. It's as logical as any argument that he's ever had. The bosses at Visa must be shaking in their boots that Random Precision is going to cancel he $100 credit limit card and try to convince people who are stupid enough to listen to him, that they should do so too.
^ No, they have clearly stated in their terms of use IN ADVANCE that Paypal services cannot be used for adult material. I knew this before agreeing their term. Also I don't pay them for using Paypal for my payments , the seller does.
Because Paypal doesn't allow such payments and because the Credit Card attached to my account is my VISA this may change though.
such images are completely illegal in Europe both to be sold and to own unless it is you in them with your children Edited by - Laurie Cameron Fan on 6/9/2012 3:28:49 AM
I never had a credit card. My rating has been steadily in the fair range for several years. With a better credit rating maybe I could get lower car insurance, but it's not worth the stress of worrying how or when the credit card company will screw me into bankruptcy.
Nude minors? How about in movies, fashion magazines, nudist magazines? There is no law against nudity, there are only laws against kiddieporn. For a picture to classify as that there has to be a sexual element, not just nudity. Jacco
^ it's a grey zone , as said in Italy advertising for kid swimsuits had been suddenly removed , maybe they could win but why should they take the risk?
In Rome last year , in Viale Libia and Corso Trieste were two, removed in 24 hours and changed with others without true kids , just suits I saw others elsewhere but couldn't verify ,I asked to the people working (hey guys you put them just yesterday what's up?) I've been answered they have been called and had to change all the previous as fast as they can
