I think he's talking about what Private used to be know for - glamorous women in glamorous locations. That, as opposed to the cum-stained yellow couch.

I love Andrew Blakes work, he makes women look just so fucking gorgeous.
The sex content is pretty lame though, but so what, you can get that everywhere.

I think he means what are some movies that have good sets, lighting, camera work, costumes, and hair & makeup. Preferably movies that have all that and still have good, hard fucking. What are some movies that stand out from the pack in the purely visual department, the kind that you could be shown a lone still or vidcap off of them and instantly recognize what they're from.

Hiya,
Woah I'm a fan of all the fashionistas, they are so stunning looking and the wardrobes are way cool! Plus I only recently saw Jenna's Darkside and wow, ok so I think she actually helps a lot of things look good but actually its a very nicely shot film too. I loved it... more than once! lol!
Er so I am quite new around ADT and I dont really know how many euro contributors you got here or how much you guys know about whats going on over here, so I'm jus gonna go right ahead anyways...
Over this side of the water there is one company that is really pushing some great looking films and that is Daring Media. They are doing really well considering only officially launching the label at the Venus Festival in Berlin last year, I would already consider them at the higher end of the europorn market.
So yeah, their site is www.daringsex.com and its got some great trailers of their stuff. IMO the site navigation is not great but still, in the center at the bottom the each film is represented by the four red buttons. Slightly to the left and right of them are tiny little arrows, thats how to get to all the other movies on their catalogue. Actually once your in and looking around there is quite a lot to see with trailers, galleries and cast lists for all their films.
Anyways, OMG this post is getting long! lol! Ok so what I wanted to say originally was, and I am slightly biased but I would recommend ALL of Kendo's films. "Bondage Thoughts", "Twisted Minds" and "Sexual Art" are his titles released to date and each and every one of them is visually creative and impressive porn. If like me, you like his stuff then you can find even more spectacular images at his own website www.kendofilms.com
Ok and sorry but one more thing. A movie that I'm dying to see but havent had the opportunity to watch yet is "Hell is where the party is". This time from an even newer european company Miss Lucifers, it is looking absolutly awesome. This Brussells based company pulled out all the stops for this, their very first title but from the trailer I was super impressed by the quality of the movie. This to me is almost like MTV porn!? You can see the trailer HERE.

Keni, wow, that sexual art looks something else. What's the name of the stunning brunette on the box cover, she's wearing white stockings and pink lingerie?

Eh, 'great looking' isn't what comes to mind when I think of Magic Graffiti, which is the only one of their films I've seen. I guess it was OK overall, but the color balance sucked in Mya Diamond's scene.

Hi Bobcat,
The box cover model is Natalia, a UK model and actually this was her very first or second BG scene. Unfortunatley the gossip goes that she then went on to do a few more scenes around the UK circuit, stumble into a 'HARDER' scene and has now been put of. She said recently on the uk forum that she will only work up to BG with her partner and is quite happy working GG and solo. Shame.
Hi Hardware,
Ok, I have to agree with you on that one but I was trying to cast a blanket compliment when really what I ment in my previous posts was check out Kendo's stuff!!! lol! He is one of my favourite directors and I just think his shooting style and editing is setting him apart from other stuff produced over here.

Yesterday I was working for the amazing director Francesco Fanelli, damn I feel so ashamed that I forgot to mention him! This guy makes everyone and everything look good in his porn movies... and I mean exactly that too, he makes real movies! Francesco has a background in mainstream film and has directed a heap of stuff for Pink'O and ATV Entertainment, just google him. Anyway I'm going off course, yeah he is a great director and yesterday he mentioned using me for a part in his next big production so I got my fingers crossed on that! Lol!
I can direct you to some of Fanelli's best works incase you dont know about him or seen his stuff before...
Click for the trailer of "Slivers of Fear" (Francesco says this is his best movie so far)
Click for the trailer of "Luna's Angels"
Click for the trailer of "Revenge Vendetta" (My favourite Fanelli movie)
Click here is a softcore trailer for "The Specialist"
Enjoy some cinematic porn guys,
Keni

I just got "sexual art", Its a great movie, the content is very similar to US gonzo porn but it has a different feel to it, the women are beautifully made up and dressed in very feminine lingerie, I think its shot and directed so they are equal partners in this sex, rather than just a hole that gets fucked. Its a very "arty" film not dissimilar to Andrew Blake's style but the sex is very hardcore. I most definitely will ask my gf to watch it, she only likes porn that depicts sex as between gf/bf, I think she will like this.
I will be getting some more of Kendo's work, cheers for the tip Keni. Oh and that was one nice blonde you were paired with ;).
Natalia is fucking awesome, she looks even better in the movie than on the boxcover, she's like "Bondgirl" attractive.

Cafe Flesh, Smoker, V: The Hot One and Anna Obsessed are all visually striking 'classics.' Leslie's Dog Walker and Fresh Meat from the 90s are also very well made.

Hiya,
Thanks very much ALL of you guys for such a warm welcome back here at ADT! Its a pleasure to be contributing anything that others find useful. I would be really pleased if Kendo had more exposure stateside and I also hope that people checked out Francesco Fanelli's stuff from my second post too.
These are my favourite two directors over here in Europe and I think they are doing a good job for europorn and european models. I feel they are keeping us on par at least with the big american productions.
Many thanks again,
Keni

I'm a big fan of "atmosphere" in porn. I think the standard "Spotlight on two people fucking" is worn down to a nub. Sure. Everything is visible but so much of what is sexy is mood. Yes. You can get atmosphere in features but I don't think a modicum of creativity and sensuality has to be limited to features. I've always felt that the perfect porn is a perfectly balanced mix between filthy hardcore and soft, moody sensuality. It's not easy to pull it off (obviously) but not trying is unforgivable.

What a waste, Natalia not doing b/g anymore. I read that her partner is really busy so the chances of seeing her in b/g action are slim.
She's one of the best looking girls to come out of the UK in a long long LONG time.

I agree with the comment that Andrew Blake really knows how to make women look their best -- very nice makeup but not overdone, perfect lighting, long gazes into their crystal clear eyes... But I would like less jumbled editing and more M/F hardcore. Some teasing and stripping at the beginning to warm up is fine, but eventually I want to see a proper fuck of the girl's pussy.

Agreed! I watched Dog Walker last week, after having it recommended to me by ADT folks so many times, and I was impressed. The sex was hot too.
I'll go ahead and add Nightdreams - that shit is insane.
I also think Through the Looking Glass is visually (and psychologically) striking. Also, Devil in Miss Jones. Both are very dark, but also curiously erotic.

When it comes to the most visually impressive locations I think the PRIVATE studios is the most impressive because of their beautiful outdoors and scenery.
The most visually interesting and artistic porn movie I've ever seen was SANATORIUM starring Tabitha Stevens shot by her husband Gary Orona.
The most visually sexually stimulating in terms lighting, costumes, beautiful women, and the way the sex is shot in my opinion would be the bigger budget movies from BLUEBIRD FILMS studios. Many their movies have a very sexy/sensual look vibe about them even when there's no actual sex going on and the sex is often well shot.

A visually impressive movie has to show visually impressive movement and action and not just good-looking background. Because it's the movement and the action that the camera focuses on and not the background. The background is often out of focus, and it's not the most important thing in a movie.
The word 'movie' comes from the word movement. And this is a clue about what makes a good movie good. It's all about movement and action. Still pictures and too little movement makes the movie boring to watch, no matter how nice the background scenery looks. And this is especially true for porn movies, where dialogue is almost non-existent. It's all about sexy ladies and horny guys banging each other's brains out. And banging has to be the pounding kind in order to look impressive on screen. It's the wild, spectacular, fast-paced action that looks best on screen.

OK, have gone through the vault and made a short list of films which haven't been mentioned yet. I'm a big Andrew Blake fan but his stuff has been listed already so won't add anything - they're all very impressive.
Between the cheeks
Pin-up perversions
Shay Jordan: Slippage [light bondage movie but colourful and made with a very good eye]
Private Party Babes - amazing.
Private The Downward Spiral
Aphrodiziac - quite fetish-y but visually interesting
Pantyhose Seduction - nicely shot
King Cobra - quite dark but visually interesting
Sinema
Upload - the orgy in hell scene at the end is extraordinary
That's enough for now

For eye candy movies checkout Andrew Blake and Michael Ninn movies. They used to shoot stuff for Playboy
so their movies have that lush kinda look but too softcore for me. For some more visually ambitious stuff
checkout Philip Mond's movies like Zazel and Sinema which were nominated for a lot of awards. They may
be hard to find now though.
Pierre Woodman shot some classic stuff for Private during the 90s using really lavish exotic
locations and the movies had great hardcore action. He defined the Private look back then.
Checkout movies he did back then. Too bad Private sucks now.
Brad Armstrong has done some visually good stuff like Conquest, Dream Quest, Satyr, Hell On Heels.
Nic Andrews did some nice eye candy movies with young Jewel DeNyle like Whispers and Electric Sex.
Michael Raven's Beautiful with Julia Ann looked great. His Paradise Lost and Pin-Ups movies looked awesome also.

Include me on the list for John Leslie's Dog Walker
I would also include:
Michael Ninn's

Shock ( Latex 2 )
Sex 1 & 2

Thanks, all look very good.
Easily my favorite director, some say his stuff is too dark but to me that adds to the eroticism. Not only everything you said but also the setup of the scenes, alot of voyeurism with girls just in view masturbating or his excellent setup of multiple couples so you see one in the background through the scene in the foreground.
Can anyone recommend any modern day films/directors in the same league, I need some new Salieri?
You mentioned Fashionistas if you want more definitely check out the directors Jack the Zipper and Tanya Hyde.
And for a softcore quality fix some Tinto Brass eg Trasgredire, Histoire d'O, and Off-Topic but if Fashionistas floats your boat the erotic WomenInPrison series Bound Heat.

Kovi shot some visually impressive movies for Private also.
Especially the ones featuring Michelle Wild.
Tanya Hyde's 'Xtreme Desires' and 'Hell, Whores, And High Heels' are awesome also. I haven't watched much of her newer stuff for Harmony.

Sorry realized some of my recs were already posted. Thanks for the Dog Walker, reading this thread reminded me of a great scene of a couple in a peepshow booth watching a stripper through the glass and that's it.
Italian Inferno aka Discesa All' Inferno is pretty impressive, another Salieri starring Zara Whites and cinematography wise is like the Citizen Kane of porn full of amazing scenes of extreme foreground and background couples with both in focus.

I recently watched Devil in Miss Jones: the Resurrection (2010) and I was impressed especially since it was shot by Paul Thomas who was known for cranking out mediocre movies for Vivid. Visually this movie is stunning. I don't know what kind of camera they used but whatever they used produced stunning video quality especially during Belladonna's kitchen scene with Kurt Lockwood. Its also darker than the typical Vivid movie. I wish Paul Thomas had shot more movies like this.
I'm kinda burnt out on gonzo and need to watch some features for change. But I want to see more visually impressive stuff like movies mentioned in this thread.

I see this type of comment a lot, and have never fully understood where it came from. Granted, I hand picked movies made by him in retrospect, but I also watched a couple (Cry Wolf and Throat) contemporary to when they were released. I guess I have always regarded PT as a good director, one with vision etc. Did he just crank out a ton of films, getting him a reputation, and there were a few great ones that rose to the top?

Paul Thomas is definitely a quantity over quality director. Its kind of obvious when you compare his numbers with other well known feature film directors. Henri Pachard was another quantity over quality director.
Note: When looking at these numbers keep in mind we are talking features here NOT gonzo,
but some of these guys did produce gonzo videos also. If I went thru the trouble of
excluding their gonzo titles their average movies per year would be lower. However,
I also didn't subtract years for which they produce no films which could increase
their average. So admittedly this is quick and dirty comparison.
Robby D 2013 - 1992 = 21 yrs, 435 films / 21 yrs = 20.71 movies per year
Jim Enright 2010 - 1989 = 21 yrs, 341 films / 21 yrs = 16.23 movies per year
Pierre Woodman 2011 - 1993 = 18 yrs, 276 films / 18 yrs = 15.33 movies per year
Henri Pachard 2008 - 1979 = 29 yrs, 444 films / 29 yrs = 15.31 movies per year
Paul Thomas 2012 - 1986 = 26 yrs, 340 films / 26 yrs = 13.08 movies per year
Axel Braun 2013 - 1993 = 20 yrs, 253 films / 20 yrs = 12.65 movies per year
Fred J. Lincoln 2009 - 1976 = 33 yrs, 406 films / 33 yrs = 12.30 movies per year
Celeste 2011 - 2004 = 7 yrs, 73 films / 7 yrs = 10.42 movies per year
Frank Thring 2013 - 1989 = 24 yrs, 236 films / 24 yrs = 9.83 movies per year
Jonathan Morgan 2013 - 1994 = 19 yrs, 176 films / 19 yrs = 9.26 movies per year
Michael Raven 2010 - 1994 = 16 yrs, 146 films / 16 yrs = 9.12 movies per year
Brad Armstrong 2013 - 1994 = 19 yrs, 160 films / 19 yrs = 8.42 movies per year
Kovi 2011 - 1995 = 16 yrs, 125 films / 16 yrs = 7.81 movies per year
Antonio Adamo 2012 - 1998 = 14 yrs, 106 films / 14 yrs = 7.57 movies per year
John Leslie 2010 - 1987 = 23 yrs, 148 films / 23 yrs = 6.43 movies per year
Robert McCallum 1998 - 1975 = 23 yrs, 146 films / 23 yrs = 6.34 movies per year
Warren Evans 1983 - 1972 = 11 yrs, 62 films / 11 yrs = 5.63 movies per year
Michael Ninn 2012 - 1992 = 20 yrs, 112 films / 20 yrs = 5.60 movies per year
Anthony Spinell 1999 - 1971 = 28 yrs, 114 films / 28 yrs = 4.07 movies per year
Nic Andrews 2005 - 1999 = 6 yrs, 20 films / 6 yrs = 3.33 movies per year
Michael Zen 2004 - 1977 = 27 yrs, 81 films / 27 yrs = 3.00 movies per year
Richard Mailer 2007 - 1974 = 33 yrs, 92 films / 33 yrs = 2.78 movies per year
Andrew Blake 2011 - 1989 = 22 yrs, 56 films / 22 yrs = 2.54 movies per year
Gregory Dark 1998 - 1984 = 14 yrs, 32 films / 14 yrs = 2.28 movies per year
Bob Chin 2003 - 1970 = 33 yrs, 73 films / 33 yrs = 2.21 movies per year
Veronica Hart 2008 - 1988 = 20 yrs, 43 flims / 20 yrs = 2.15 movies per year
Gerard Damiano 1994 - 1968 = 26 yrs, 56 films / 26 yrs = 2.15 movies per year
Alex DeRenzy 1996 - 1969 = 27 yrs, 56 films / 27 yrs = 2.07 movies per year
Tanya Hyde 2012 - 1998 = 14 yrs, 35 films / 14 yrs = 2.50 movies per year
Don't get me wrong, this says nothing about quality. Just shows how prolific some directors
are in cranking out product. For example, Woodman has cranked out more movies per year than
Thomas but Woodman did some really great films for Private during their heyday and he is
remembered more for that than the volume of mediocre stuff he cranked out after Private
was sold.
