Now that I have a DVD player, I have started buying DVDs. I've gone back to some of the better VHS titles in my collection and have purchased the DVD. I have to say, I am sorely disappointed in Vivid DVDs. Supposed to be the leader and at the forefront of DVD technology...I think they are full of CRAP! First, the sticker on the box says 4 HOURS...yeah, right. I timed the feature (Watcher 2) and the preview stuff and it totalled 3 hours and 23 minutes - I can accept a few minutes difference, but over 30 minutes difference is a bit off target. I got another DVD from Vivid - Action Sports Sex series - that has 27 minutes less time than the VHS. I spoke to the place where I bought it and they said Vivid often cuts time from the movie to make space on their DVDs for all the "extras." What a load of BS! And now Vivid is advertising that they throw in a bonus DVD. I wonder what that is filled with - Better get some waders, cause you'll need them. anyone else notice this from Vivid? Haven't seen these problems with any of the other companies I've purchased DVDs from (Leisure Time, Elegant Angel, Metro, VCA, etc...)  [Link] |
| HoustonDon Member Houston 561 Posts 11/99 | Posted - Nov 17 2000 : 7:45AM Extra's: I greatly prefer the extra's on an Adam & Eve Premium title, Wicked, VCA, over most Vivid titles I've watched because those other company's seem to put extra's that are exclusive to the title on them. Vivid puts a bunch of "interactive rooms" and such that are tossed onto many a disc. (ie: seen one, you've seen them all approach) I've read where Vivid is going to change this in the future and I hope they do.  [Link] |
