If Vivid were to spend the money needed to improve their production facilities, find attractive women that enjoyed sex more, and stopped putting out so much crap that is heavily edited-Wicked and others would be in trouble. My thought on it is that they try and advertise more and lock some women into contracts so they can better control the market.

If the question had been Wicked vs VCA, it'd be a tougher call. Other companies are working hard to gain marketshare too so hopefully the overall market will get better releases. (fingers crossed)

If the question were Evil Angel vs Elegant Angel, Evil would put the smackdown on Elegant too.

Vivid gives us chopped up movies, multiple angle gimmicks, and loads of so-called extras which are just unlabelled compilations of random scenes. Wicked gives us value for the dollar, and their transfers and bonus materials (behind the scenes and accurate biographies) are top-notch. Also, as much as I like Cassidey and Raylene, their performances can't compare [yet] to starlets like Inari Vachs and Stephanie Swift.

It does appear that Vivid is trying to improve their line, with a special edition of BAD WIVES, and the option to remove multiple angles. But Wicked has been producing great work from Day One, so my vote easily goes to Wicked.

Also, Vivid is very well known for not giving out copies where they know that they might not get an extremely good rating. Wicked, however, I know has been very gracious with supplying Adult DVD Talk copies of most of their new releases where they know that they will get an honest review. They also pay attention to the reviews. I know that I've had problems with some things with Wicked's movies that I've mentioned in reviews only to find David Crawford putting it onto the forum to see what everybody else thinks. Caring about the consumer to that extent also impresses me a lot from Wicked.

Of course, then there's Vivid that has so-called multiple angles and mandatory icons that consumers have complained about almost since day one that they haven't done squat about. They even seemed to have gone so far as when the consumers complained about having the movies edited to fit their lame extras on the DVD they basically told the consumers that their opinion on how they think a DVD should be made doesn't matter. Granted, some of that might be changing in the future from Diesel's report on the special edition of Bad Wives, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Of course, if this was a three way between Wicked, VCA, and Evil Angel I'd have to make their top girls jello-wrestle for the title of better studio.

Perhaps they will release it at the same time as BAD WIVES 2 makes its way to DVD. Who knows?

Of course, Wicked would have done it right the first time around...

I have a satellite dish myself, and it’s something they do to it. I think they encode it for broadcast. I noticed not only on our titles, but others as well. It also sometimes looks like Mpeg 1 footage really pixilated. Pick up one of our DVDs or VHSs, and stay away from blond chicks………. killer.

This email is in response to Porn Boy's end-of-March posting regarding "Vivid Vs. Wicked: Which is the better studio." In his posting he states that Wicked seems to feature girls that have already been with Vivid, "like Jenna Jameson and Nikki Tyler."

Wicked Pictures, in fact, was the first company to ever sign Jenna Jameson to an exclusive contract (in the mid-nineties, long before she ever shot for Vivid). Nikki Tyler, on the other hand, has never been signed with the company (although she has worked with us.

I apologize for the tardiness of this reply (I've been working away from the office a great deal), but I want to thank everyone for their continued support of our DVDs. Our next big title, Jonathan Morgan's THE GATE, will street on DVD May 30th (the same day as the video!) and it's truly an amazing piece of work on all levels.

I like Wicked's behind the scenes stuff and bios on the stars. Plus you can link to scenes with the stars so you know who they are. I think that Wicked has hot looking stars and they are equally hot in their performances. I like wicked's directors better too.

Between studios, I like Wicked better than Vivid. Overall, I just like the "feel" Wicked's pictures have over Vivid's. My two favorite fliks include one wicked and one vivid interestingly. However, the vivid was directed by Wicked's Brad Armstrong.
