"Emperor" appears to be the sexvid that Vivid has chosen to go head-to-head with Digital Playground in what is becoming their annual competition at the AVNs for "top company" bragging rights. Last year it was "Pirates" vs. "The New Devil in Miss Jones." Vivid won more awards, but DP copped a lot of the quality awards they were up for.

This year, DP's standard bearer is "Island Fever 4".

Neither video has hit the streets yet ("Emperor" will hit first) so the only thing I have to go on are the trailers; with the "Island Fever 4" trailer on the web for a week or so, and the "Emperor" trailer having just become available on the Vivid site (members section)yesterday.

Based on the trailers, the early money is on "Island Fever 4"--but I've got both on order, and will give my final opinion after seeing the complete products.

By the way, and hopefully not getting too far off topic, "The Surrender of O" from Adam & Eve, and starring Carmen Luvana also looks like a must-see. And could be a "spoiler" at awards time.

To stay, for a few more minutes, off topic:

Vivid also uses a "pecking order" with their Vivid Girls. Savanna Samson, Tera Patrick & Jenna appear in most of the "big" award worthy productions (Savanna has been the "favorite daughter" at Vivid for a long time).

Newer girls--in the past it was Tawny Roberts, Lexie Marie, Sunrise Adams; now it's Monique Alexander--are the "hottie" 20-something work horses that appear in numerous sexvids. And bring in most of the money. The up-and-comers are promised that they'll get to star in a prestige, award worthy sexvid in the future. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.

ANd it is truy that MF showrs Janine's face....and is this the first time Janine has squirtedon film? That was probably the hottest scene.

A gngbang or 2...multiple Rocco scenes...totally enjoyable and rec'd!

Like Derek117, though I'm wondering about the reliablity of Vivid DVD's post the new 'harder' production code. The only Vivid film I've seen since the new code was instituted is "Savanna's Secret.' I was pleasantly surprised with this DVD. Savanna's two scenes in this one rank high in my book but the rest are forgettable.

For those of you have seen both films how would you compare 'Savanna's Secret,' to the 'The Emperor,' in terms of the depiction of sex acts? Is the sex in 'The Emperor," rougher than the sex in 'Savanna's Secret,' or about the same? How would you rate it?

Lastly, Vivid is touting 'The Flasher,' starring Savanna Samson and slated to be released next month as a big budget awards season extravaganza. It may be one to keep an eye out for. Is there any advance buzz on this flick?

Janine is in 3-4 scenes that I can recall...all are pretty good..not into the older wider tatooer Janine but it was very good.

I bought Ninn's because of my support of Eddie Van Halen and wanted to see a Ninn flick..haven't seen any NinnWorx stuff before...now I know.

In the Behind the Scenes section, Janine is sitting on PT's lap talking about the Rocco incident. She is diplomatic about Rocco's behavior, but at one point she asked if she could say what happened. PT tells her to say whatever she wants, but then seconds later said that they don't need to get into it and shuts her up.

What's funny is that Tawny Roberts is the one who gave him a black eye when she slapped him during their rough sex scene. It was before the actual sex got going though.

Anyway, one thing that annoyed me in the commentary is how PT kept talking about how great the movie is. He definitely has a giant ego.

The Janine/Manuel Ferrara scene is the highlight. The facial is ok, but not as good as I expected from the reviews. Most of it hits her tongue and lower jaw/chin. It wasn't all over her face though. Still, a nice scene.
