Things like DRM or low video quality or streaming-only content make it less appealing and less valuable and not worth it (imo). Save to DVD? It depends. If there is no DRM and no streaming, then yes, you can save to DVD. Be aware of filetype. Commonly used filetype is WMV. WMV files can be played on most computers but on relatively few standalone DVD players. If your DVD player is not WMV capable, then file must be converted to MPG or AVI(if Divx-able DVD player); your computer can do the conversion if you have the necessary software. Some may point out that even DRM content and streaming content can be saved to DVD. This is technically true. But it involves additional effort/hassle/cost/software/expertise. |

| customer20983 Member 77 Posts 2/08 | There is no one who is spending the money on bandwidth for standard DVD quality yet. -- let alone HiDef quality despite all the promo for high def downloads. But for some they are not looking to keep replaying the clip or ripped film more than one time. So for them playback quality is not a real issue as all they want is just something that meets the immediate want will do for that person. |
| LoveAvenue Member 48 Posts 1/06 | I had a subscription to xrentdvd (on a netflix kind of plan), but I find the downloading to be a welcome change. I've already cancelled my xrent sub for now. I'll probably cancel my sub to the present download site after a month or two, then move on to try a few others. |
