So I find myself on LA Direct's newly revamped website. They now have VOD available. I couldn't help but laugh. I commend them on trying to make cash every chance they get, but it just seems a bit ludicrous to me. (Of course, I have to remind myself that I am not the typical porn consumer.)
Interested on hearing other takes on it.

I don't know how many people go to LA Direct's website that don't already know who their talent is and where to get their movies. I suspect this won't generate much business, but since it just appears to be a link to aebn.net it probably doesn't cost much, either.

People link to them all the time and they are high in the search engines for big name Pornstars... Anyone who thinks there isn't a decent amount of revenue from that... lol.
They are in business and it just further increases the revenue.

Yeah, I heard they also take the domain names of any new talent that signs with them. They make $$$ off of everything. You'd be shocked at what they charge talent to stay in one of agency houses; its the same as the cost of an apartment by one's self.

I thought it would be free for talent to register on the LADirect Models website. They would then just take a small percentage of your earnings for each scene they organised for you in return for getting you the work and organising your transport to and from the scene. Agencies would probably send your cheques directly to them and then they would cash the cheques and pay the money direct into your bank account. And this would be it. What other charges are you expected to pay
Apparently LADirect Models revolutionized the image of the porn modelling agency and now several other agencies have sprung up. Prior to LA Direct Models there was only the World Modeling agency which was really poorly run

If you stay in the housing of LA Direct, it is $300 or so a week. If you don't stay at the house, I've heard that you have to show up at the house prior to your scene, so that you can be driven to the studio where you will shoot. I think there is also some sort of fee that they charge for cashing the checks and then paying you (didn't Kami say that ages ago?).
