I was thinking about going out to a strip club tonight. I haven't been to one in a long time now. Instead I decided to try out the 10 minute VOD trial at BushDVD. I wasn't sure how it worked, if I had to watch the streaming movie I pick from the start and it cuts off 10 minutes in? Kind of like insert another quarter if you want it to continue. I was also hessitant about the minutes thinking it was a ripoff deal to get you to buy more minutes as they quickly run out, given 10 minutes doesn't seem like much when a DVD is around 2 hours.
Well I checked out the free 10 minute trial and found out it allows you to skip ahead through the entire movie to quickly glance over parts. Think of it like..as soon as you launch the video the clock is ticking. You can click ahead in the media player and hop quickly around until you find a good part to watch. So within around 10-30 seconds you can quickly click around and glance over different parts of a DVD. What a great way to preview a DVD before buying it or renting it! I checked out a lot of DVDs that I've always wanted to see. I went through one pornstars entire VOD dvd collection to see what I've been missing. I previewed old DVD titles. I ended up buying more minutes but at around $10 for 100 minutes, I think that's a pretty damn good deal given you can skim over a ton of DVDs you've always wanted to glance at and if you find a scene you really like, you can go to the best parts you enjoy.
I remember back in the day I'd easily drop $10 on an on demand paper view porno and if it sucked, I was out of luck. So I think the VOD thing is a great alternative to watch the specific titles and scenes you want.
Also it could be used to track down an old scene. Maybe you watched an old scene a long time ago and can't remember which DVD it's on but have a few ideas, what you could do is use VOD to skim through a few DVD titles and quickly track down what you're looking for or at least single out the titles that it's not. In the long run it could end up saving you money on buying and renting bad DVDs.
In the end I didn't go to the stripclub, VOD saved me at least $100. It's hard for me to go to a stripclub and not spend at least $100. So next time you're thinking about going out to the stripclub and dropping a lot of money, maybe consider doing the VOD thing, dropping $10 is better than dropping hundreds. A lot of the different online rental places have VOD now, you should try out the free 10 minute trial if you've been putting it off.
