I've spoke about this before on here but I was watching Girl Crush 3 last night and I was irritated by the wandering camera, which has prompted me to talk about this subject again.
I'm not sure if the guys who film porn go to camera school, but they should.
First I'll give you a couple of instances in Girl Crush 3 where the camera operator takes the camera lense off on a little ride. What should be the center of the action, one girl sitting on the face of another, is diverted to wandering round the girls and focusing on the receiving girl's face for what seems like an eternity. I can't be the only one who was screaming out, 'I WANT TO SEE THE ASS AND PUSSY LICKING. PLEASE SHOW ME!!' It was definitely going on but we couldn't see it. Damn.
There's another segment where one girl in kneeing and being licked from behind, both ass and pussy. It had the potential to be an awesome view, but the camera guy doesn't focus on this but instead takes the camera on a ride and concentrates on the receiving girl's face. The best stuff is going on in the ass department. Jeez. This is so frustrating.
The reason why I stopped watching Belladonna movies was the same thing. The close up ass and pussy action was going on but the camera lense was on the receiver's face for a long time. Not always, but it seems the best bits are not captured on camera.
If you're a porn camera operator, for God's sake sort yourself out. When I'm watching porn movies with bad camera shots, I just give up and either jump to the next scene or give up on the film completely.
Girl Crush 3 had the potential to be a 10/10. But the bad moving camera angles made me give it just 4/10. Yet the girl's performances were 10/10.

It all depends on what you define as an "eternity". Of course, everything can feel dragged out if you focus too long on it. That's true not only for showing faces, but also for showing genitalia or intercourse. Variety spices things up.
You may be correct about these particular movies. But IMHO the cases where pornographers focus too long on the girls' faces, are far less in numbers than those where the faces are rather ignored.
I mean, reactions are an important part of sex, too. The act(s) depicted are fine and beautiful, but what effects they have on the performers is hot as well. And that should reflect on their faces, and that'y why showing these in between can be very sexy.
I agree there's somewhere a line between "appropriately long" and "too long".

At least it wasn't Digital Playground, where the camera focuses on the girls stomach for 12 minutes of a 13 minute scene. Wasn't so bad that you got to see the look of enjoyment on her face. Some scenes don't show the girls face long enough for me to forget who's getting fucked.

The whole "showing the face" thing is overdone IMO. That's because they randomly/systematically show the face closeup, regardless of there being anything interesting at that moment. Generally, the problem is the camera is too close. It'd work better to have the camera pulled back for the full body view, and when an interesting/sexy/real facial expression does occur, THEN show the face closeup. The typical way it seems to me is that they focus on the genitals, then when something "hot" happens (from a genitals close-up perspective), they abandon the genitals and aim at the face. The problem is, they don't always automatically co-exist (hot action + sexy face).

Girl Crush 3 is directed by a woman. And Belladonna also directed or co-directed a lot of her stuff. So this might be a bit of clash between the woman's pov and the man's pov going on here.
When she directs girl-girl Mason definitely seems very focused on working with girls who genuinely like girls and on showing that these women have some real emotional contact with each other. And then when the action starts, showing the love and the passion as well as the sex itself. So if that's the pov of the director you can expect to see the camera focusing quite a lot on the receiver's face. The camera operators, be they male or female or both, are going to shoot the shots the director wants to see.
E.G. There are plenty of guys who like it too, but this website is particularly popular with women
Beautiful Agony
The focus is almost entirely on the girl or guy's face as they masturbate or get pleasured by their lover. And when they cum it's always the face you'll see.

Well, it doesn't bother me too much because there's always going to be a problem somewhere as long as they're only using one camera. You're just lucky if they pick an angle you like. And even if they do, if they pick one you like and leave it there for 45 minutes you're probably going to be bored as fuck and hate it by then.
Seems like they always pick the worst angles to show any given thing. If they hit an angle I like, it probably just happened by chance because they were wandering all over the place. A motionless camera in an angle I hate is just as bad as anything else.
