Just got my monthly bank statement, and I noted that three debit charges were made where NO dvds were ordered.
WHAT!
Luckily my bank has put that money back, and they're now chasing the company.
MY MESSAGE IS; CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS!
Regards, Rump.

The company name or website would be helpful.

While investigations are underway, I would not advise it.
In general terms, my advise is for all to check their bank statements.
And that's true with dvd stores as it is with Internet grocer shops.
I am not alleging underhand practises, perhaps, maybe, a computer error.

That's why I don't like to charge on my debit card. I prefer to use credit card. When you get your monthly statement, you can still dispute any bad charges. Once the company take your money, it's much harder to get it back.

@Nookie

It may be "hard" to get one's money back, but remember, ALL, it is a criminal offence to take money from an account where no authorization has been made on the part of the card holder.

Have you emailed the company? Its usually quicker to get a solution from a company than to go through a bank...I've had duplicate charges before made in error by a company and a simple email to them solved everything in 1 day rather than 2-4 weeks.

I recently had a store that charged me double by accident as well, but they fixed the situation before I even knew about it.

Thanks guyz, but it's been reported to the bank, and I have been refunded.
These weren't double charges but separate charges of varying amounts.
Remember, I am not simply talking about my experience, just a warning to you all, check your statements.
Cheers.

Thanks for the warning! It's definitely appreciated.
When this is all over for you can you let us know the name of the store as I certainly don't want to do business with a store like that?

@Flash...
I think we're all guilty of, as soon as we get our statements, not even looking at them properly and just popping them in a drawer.
BECAUSE WE TRUST PEOPLE.
But sometimes trust is not enough.
Just watch your backs, m8s!
Kind regards, Rump.

Rump - sorry to hear someone stiffed ya, here in the states alot of banks are online so you can pretty much check your balance on a daily basis. Harris Bank the bank I belong to is the best and they have a great site.

@PornManiac...

Apparently a lot of this delving into people's accounts goes on.
One dude had $27,000 extracted from his account without his permission.
This was over a 8 year period.
It took his new accountant to notice it.
A WARNING TO US ALL, EH!
