On April 22,2013 I bought on-line 4 dvds from Adult Asian Anime and the shipping charge was $16.75 for 1 to 6 dvds shipped new and sealed in cases to Canada. To my disappointment and shock they only charged and shipped me 1 dvd and charged me the full $16.75 shipping. I emailed them many times with NEVER 1 reply and never informing me if the other 3 dvds were put on back order. In fact the order receipt doesn't indicate they were put on back order. They just abandoned the order and did not completely fullfill it. They just charged me for 1 dvd with the high priced shipping charge so they can make much more money off shipping and expect me to reorder and pay $16.75 shipping per 1 dvd which will never happen again. This is their policy about back ordered dvds, "Backorders may be charged/shipped separately without additional shipping cost". They made no attempt to put the 3 dvds on back order or ship the 3 dvds without additional shipping charge, so its very possible they had the other 3 dvds in stock at the time the order was processed but did not want to ship them hoping I would pay another $16.75 to ship each dvd seperately. I believe I was cheated shipping and I could prove it. Their other policy states "Order Acceptance Policy, adultDVDdaily.com reserves the right at any time after receipt of your order, without prior notice to you, to supply less than the quantity you ordered of any item." Ok so they can decide to just charge and ship 1 dvd after a customer buys 4 dvds and pays shipping to cover up to 6 dvds which I think is not only a rip off its also trickery but they shouldnt be allowed to charge me full shipping of $16.75 even when they state $16.75 for 1 to 6 dvds. You know why? Because the order receipt details states something completely different than that policy. It states and confirmed QTY 4, shipping $16.75. It doesnt state QTY 1 shipping $16.75, no, it states QTY 4. The contract I made with them clearly indicates the $16.75 amount was to ship 4 dvds and because they have failed I should be entitled to receive a refund off shipping which should be $12.56 refund. What do you think about this? Should I contact Visa and demand this $12.56 refund because the order receipt contract states QTY 4 to be shipped at $16.75 not 1. (they ran at least 20 different websites at the same time each targeting a specific niche market. Note that your post includes mentions of Adult Asian Anime and adultDVDDaily.com) They carried very little inventory in their own warehouse. All of their website product pages included a caveat along the lines of "usually ships in 1 to 4 days" which gave them time to source the various DVDs from their suppliers and get it out the door to their customers. That doesn't always work out and you've gotten burned by it. I suspect they also have a pricing policy that states something along the lines of they can change prices on you at the time of shipment. This is because they don't keep everything in-house and have to source it from distributors. Sometimes they end up saying "oh shit, that cost us more than we sold it for" so they pass on the additional cost to the consumer. These kinds of antics are typically against their merchant credit card processing agreements. This is a case you can take up with Visa. Hit them with a chargeback on it. That will certainly get their attention. However, I doubt they intentionally ripped you off on shipping. Your post doesn't state the shipping method but I suspect it's US Postal Priority Mail. The most cost-effective Priority Mail option from the US to Canada is using a flat-rate box. The 1 to 6 DVDs per box is the 'tell' on this method. This method costs the same amount if it's 1 DVD or 20 pounds of DVDs. The rate is determined by the size of the standard USPS shipping box. Your package should have had a stamp on it indicating how much postage they paid. That should tell you if they scammed you. I doubt they did. In the past it was their policy to ship back-ordered items without any additional shipping cost. The statement "Backorders may be charged/shipped separately without additional shipping cost" means they will charge your credit card when the back-ordered items ship to you but they won't charge you additional shipping. CDMOVIES.US (name appeared next to the visa charges). adultDVDdaily.com (name in one of their policy terms).They made no attempt to put those 3 dvds on back order and SURPRISINGLY never emailed me back after I sent 6 emails to their contact email page and their email address direct, 1DVDFREE@1DVDFREE.com. I misplaced that bubbled envelope the dvd was shipped in but if I remembered right it had no amount stamped on it. My account says it was shipped by usps.com with no tracking # specified near a tab that says RE-ORDER which will not happen. IT FALLZ DOWN TO THIS,(AND EVERYONE should use the following defense if it happens to them with their or other site)- I did not make an order contract with them to ship 1 dvd at $16.75 shipping charge. Order form contract confirms QTY 4 Shipping $16.75 NOT QTY 1. I would of NOT bought 1 dvd knowing the shipping was $16.75.
