| M.B. Senior Member 1679 Posts 2/01 | Rented the Extreme Associates title SARAJEVO from my local store the other day. Of the 5 scenes on the disc only the last one had sound, the rest were just blank, no sound at all, no music or people talking, nothing. Then in the last chapter the sound finally shows up. This company is a fuckin' joke. How do they stay in business? They put out a dvd with no sound, pathetic really. [Link] |

It seems that after the third scene, Charlie Angels scene, the intro plays only without text or starring info. It seemed odd to me that there would be a lengthy intro type segment between scene 3 and 4, am I wrong? Plus after scene 3, you go to another title on the DVD for chapter 4, which was also the case for PotG 1 DVD. It's sounding like they don't give a fuck about there DVDs, which truly sucks. But I guess that they want the cash$ and fuck all you suckers who bought into it... Please prove me wrong. ---BIGmike, over and out!--- |

| BIGmike B-I-G-m-i-k-e 2335 Posts 3/01 | First they gotta give a shit about those who buy these fuck flicks, which apparently they don't, seeing is how they don't even give an email address. They spent too much time avoiding and fighting AVN, that they feel that they don't have to do a thing, because they are rebels. Yea, as if, that's not the proper way to maintain a fan base. DVDs are the future, put some time/work/pride into your DVDs, or there'll be no future...this is especially for you Extreme Associates. This is truly a shame, because a lot of their directors were/are great, and products released by... Looch, TOM BYRON, and Van Damage... should not get shit treatment. ---BIGmike, over and out!--- |

| BIGmike B-I-G-m-i-k-e 2335 Posts 3/01 | but I like Tom Byron a lot, it sucks that he doesn't, or does he(?), see that he isn't making superb product with Extreme... he has to be one of the main reasons that Extreme has made it so far, without him Extreme would probably be nothin, or at least they'd be something, but something not good. ---BIGmike, over and out!--- |
| M.B. Senior Member 1679 Posts 2/01 | A couple of days ago Circuit City, one of the biggest electronics chain stores in the US said that they will no longer sell movies in the VHS format, they are going all DVD. They have/are removing all vhs movies from their shelves. This is a huge development and is one of the first signals that VHS will die and die soon. If one of the biggest chains in America has stopped selling movies on VHS, how long before VHS becomes extinct all together? Those pricks over at Etxreme better get their act together and quick. If they fuck this up (which they have already managed to do), they will be left behind big time. A lot of companies are coming out with quality discs right now and they are not all big budget studios. Anabolic/Diabolic are doing a great job of putting out lots of good discs with great picture quality, same for Evil Angel, Rosebud has corrected their picture quality problems, and their are lots of other studios out their with quality dvd product. Especially in the mail order business. If I'm going to order a disc online and I have not yet seen it, am I going to take a chance with an Extreme disc and risk getting a dvd with no sound or bad picture quality or missing scenes? HELL NO! But I would buy an Evil Angel or Anabolic/Diabloc disc sight unseen if it's from a series I know I like. Can't say that for Extreme, it's too risky. |
| BIGmike B-I-G-m-i-k-e 2335 Posts 3/01 | True. I meant that as a warning to Extreme Associates, though, and like you said, M.B.: If they fuck this up (which they have already managed to do), they will be left behind big time. Extreme has a large back catalog of VHS that I would love to see on DVD, Flesh Pot, Lewd Behavior (series), the rest of the Whack Attacks, Wax That Ass (series), and Face Down, Ass Up (series), and of course, Lord of Asses. And I haven't seen any one of these titles on VHS, but reading reviews of these titles make 'em sound so damn good... But if the poor craftsmanship is the type of service to expect, there is no future in DVD for Extreme Associates. ---BIGmike, over and out!--- |
| BIGmike B-I-G-m-i-k-e 2335 Posts 3/01 | Since Extreme Associates could give a rat's ass about quality control, I will say this... if this is how they think of their customers, then here's a one-finger'd salute for you scumbags. Make me waste $25 on a piece of crap, never again. You lost a one time fan of your studio, I'll never buy another of your DVDs. But of course they aren't reading this, 'cause they don't care. ---BIGmike, over and out!--- |
| Zatoichi Member Sunny California 414 Posts 1/01 | Until recently, they weren't putting out much on DVD, so I was continuing to buy their titles on VHS. And of the last few titles I bought, three in a row ended up having to be returned due to picture and/or sound problems. Looks as though the quality control in their DVD department is no better. So for now, it looks like I'm sticking with Anabolic/Diabolic & Evil Angel. |

| BIGmike B-I-G-m-i-k-e 2335 Posts 3/01 | At least they have some pressence here in this forum and post frequently and answer questions. Something that can not be said for Extreme Associates. The thing that annoys me more about Extreme Associates is their first releases were some of the best titles I have seen. They actually had some pretty good extras and a whole bunch of 2-minute trailers. But unlike most studios, they have gotten worse, when they should've gotten better. ---BIGmike, over and out!--- |

| BIGmike B-I-G-m-i-k-e 2335 Posts 3/01 | I actually think that John Stagliano approached him about the idea of directing for Evil Angel: I had shot a couple of scenes and I knew I had the eye. I've been studying other people's stuff for years. I looked at Stagliano's stuff, I looked at Leslie's stuff and I knew I could do it. I was negotiating with Stagliano and a couple of other people, Mike Rubinstein at Devil's Films, Chris Alexander at Anabolic. If I was going to do it, I didn't want to go with a fly by night company or someone who didn't understand the genre that I wanted to be in. Stagliano had an offer on the table, but he was kind of dragging his feet about it. excerpt from Rog's review website ---BIGmike, over and out!--- |
