Yeah, I suppose Teagan was "the next big thing" in 2003. I never dug that girl though. Her ass was a little too chunky and her hair and makeup almost always looked like shit. I could never really figure out why others found her so appealing.
Well being the next big thing has to go with what the masses want. I never seperate porn stars by their "born on date", so who did appear in 2003? I don't know of any sites that list this way. As for 2005, really four months is about the length of a porn career and it takes about 6 months for the bulk of their scenes to come out.
2003 - maybe Michelle Wilde, Jane Darling, Julie Silver started around that time?
Because most females take a couple years to develop and come out of their "shells" in terms of ability. But didn't Marie Luv debut in 2003 (or was it 2004)? She's definitely an "it" girl!
Too true indeed! That's because it's a packed business...and usually, if you're not willing to go that extra mile (or just a little too reserved...at least in the adult film sense) you won't last long.

Marie Luv is not and never was "the next big thing" - certainly not in the way that Jenna Haze, Taylor Rain and Keri Sable were. In their respective years, those girls were on the box cover of just about every movie they appeared in (which, for all of them, amounted to a ton of movies).
Just checked this site...Young and Nasty(Hustler) came out 6/13/2003, but it has the same movie listed for 5/17/2005(?????). So no, 2003 wasn't a down year!!! But then, I looked on Adultdvdempire, and it said she was in a Barely Legal flick that came out in 2001...so I don't know for sure. Maybe she can clear it up.
And Marie hasn't been on many of her covers? She just as good as them...but we all know she won't get as much publicity as them either (I wonder why sometimes).

If you're implying that it's because she's black, then have the balls to come out and say it. Regardless of the reason, sales ultimately determines "who's hot and who's not." Jenna, Taylor and Keri had to have sold tons and tons of movies during 2001, 2002, and 2004 respectively.
I got in here in 2003, and if I remember correctly, the Teagan hysteria wasn't until 2004. Especially after her appearance at the AVN that year.
In any event, Katja Kassin appeared on these shores in mid-2003, and porn was forever changed for the better. She may not have had a big buildup and her popularity may have taken some by surprise, but she hit the ground running and by the end of 2003 she was definitely a force to be reckoned with and a bonafide porn star.
Of the people I first saw as newcomers in 2003, Katja is far and away the brightest light.
BSD's right. Teagan had a handful of videos come out in late '03 but for the most part, '04 was hers. But to say '03 was a down year for newcomers? I GOTTA GET YA!

I supose some would want to torture me for that, but one girl who came in 2003 that really appeal to me is Mercedez...yeah her performance are really soft, i normally prefer more hard thing, but she have one look i really like... personally i prefer a women with one hot look instead of a cheap whore wo do everything but have an ordinary look.

Marie performed under a different name, then disappeared for a couple of years. I don't know how many scenes she shot, but it couldn't have been many. Maybe only the one. Her first scene as Marie Luv was with Mandingo, although it wasn't the first released. I don't think that Marie has ever been considered an "it" girl unless you take into account her admirers within the industry. As far as boxcovers, she has a slew of them, and without the advantage of a contract that states that she has to appear on one regardless of her involvement in the project. Anyway, she only had one title released in 2003, but as CJ showed, there was nothing wrong with the class of '03.
I remembered you as a 2004 porn baby. (The first flick I saw you in was "6 Black Sticks, 1 White Trick #5" from Devil's Films in Spring 2004. That was also the first time I ever saw Kami Andrews as well.)
