Steph really wanted to watch Blade's Real World last night so I thought I would hang out and watch my first gay porn flick. The guys were certainly good looking but I had mixed feelings about the whole thing. I did find one scene slightly disturbing.
I don't know the guy's names in the scene that bothered me(I can look them up if it will help). The basic premise of the scene is it's the "new guy's" first scene. It's also his first time having sex with a man. It was obvious that it was his first time. You can tell if someone (male or female) has ever sucked a dick before by the way that they hold it. I don't think that this was just incredible acting he was really new to the whole thing.
I've watched plenty of straight porn where the girl is pretending to be new when she's actually been doing porn since Christ was a child. I don't recall ever seeing a real virginal experience in straight porn.
So why was I bothered by this scene? I kept asking myself why this guy would choose a porno to be his first gay sex experience. (Why would anyone want to be in a porno for the first time having sex?) The only thing I could come up with was he needed the money. He certainly didn't look like he was enjoying himself. I think I would be just as bothered by a scene with a similarly attractive young female losing her virginity in a porno.
I don't think I've seen anything like that before, so it can't be that common.
It certainly sounds interesting, though. Were they trying to pass him off as a straight guy? Or he was gay, and this was just his first time? Did he get fucked? If so, did he grimace through the whole thing, or did he come to like it after a while?
I can't feel sorry for the lad, though. I'm sure he got paid fairly. If it truly was his first time, he probably got paid extra for that. Like you said, it's really tough to fake a "first time" experience. I think there is a certain appeal to seeing a guy getting fucked for the first time, especially if the guy is supposed to be straight.
Let's face it, most gay guys will fantasize about a straight guy at some point in their life, and this whole scenerio plays into the "Yeah, he's straight, but if the money was right, who knows???" mentality.
Other than that, did you like the movie? Was it arrousing at all?
I would say that in general, it is pretty unusual. I have not seen the particular video you mention but I've seen a LOT of gay porn. I also used to know a LOT of gay (& gay 4 pay) porn "stars" because of having been a publicity photographer in a niche of the industry for several years.
I doubt that any truly gay male has ever lost his virginity, oral or anal, on the set of a porn shoot. I won't say it is impossible, but it is darned near so. (Then again, some have claimed to have lost their virginity any number of times - I think that's because in the gay world, if you haven't been fucked since last Saturday night, you are a born-again virgin!)
There are a significant number of so-called str8 men who, if the money is right or if the other benefits are right (typically, drugs) or if they are really down on their luck, will enter the gay world. Most of these (not all) have made first contact through hustling so they are NOT virgins by the time they make it to video stardom, however distasteful they find the action.
Those str8s who do walk in to the situation without prior experience (& it does happen), usually get an indoctrination on set prior to filming. If they are lucky, they get someone ethical behind the camera and as producer and are not taken advantage of. (There are a number of stories posted on Kristen Bjorn's web site - interviews from some of the str8 guys who have been in his videos who tell of their experiences. George DuRoy at Bel Ami has a good reputation, also.)
If the kids are unlucky, they get someone like Steve Cadro who basically raped most of the young men in his videos as a prerequisite of their getting work with him - the proverbial casting couch situation (although his reputation is also that he paid what he promised - at least as long as he was interested in using the young man in a video). Cadro's murder was not an out-of-the-blue event; it was premeditated by one of his victims and two of the victims friends (who may also have been "involved" with Cadro at one time or another - that is not clear). I'm not saying Cadro deserved it; but he certainly set himself up for the situation.
That's as specific an answer as I can supply. Sorry I don't have better detail.

joe - the guy was really cute, except for his hairy ass. what ruined the scene was that the pro (dino dimarco?) who was fucking him just didn't give a shit. he was kind of dancing in the guy's butt without really paying attention. the new guy looked like he was in pain while getting fucked - though i got the impression that he would have enjoyed it if his partner cared about him enjoying it.
while the new guy was trying to give the blowjob, he started laughing (embarrassed laugh), looked at the camera guy, and muttered something like 'sorry, i've never sucked a dick before'

i hear ya, joe, razor burn is worse than hair. for me, i hate the chicken skin camera angle. combine that angel with the a hairy ass and it's an immediate turn off for me. maybe the hairy ass wouldn't have been so bad if he had hair elsewhere on his body - but he didn't.

one thing i noticed about the flick was that the lighting was excellent - much better than most straight porn. actually it seemed that the production values in general were higher than most straight porn.

I don't know if it will appeal to you or not, but try Kristen Bjorn's Thick as Thieves . It my opinion, it is one of the very best gay porno videos ever made. The scene between Arpad and Zsolt (true at first sight) at the end of the video is phenomenal! (So are most of the other scenes in the video, including a double penetration in the first scene that has to be seen to be believed! I would have never, never let either of those monsters be inserted in my rear, much less two of them at once!)

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll rent it sometime soon. It's hard for me to find stuff that I really like. Gay porn has better looking guys, but there tends to be a lot of camera angles that don't appeal to me - plus I don't like gapes. Straight porn is laden with fake boobs, which makes me grasp my chest in fear of mutilation. Someday there will be a porn movie for hetero females, even if I have to make it ;)
From joeBlow69:The movie was OK, not great. It moved along real slow and had way too many low-budget digital editing effects. It's like they were trying to give it the MTV treatment in many of the non-sex scenes. The concept was OK but the implementation was poor. I did like a lot of the cheesy 80s dance club/techno tracks they used.
I wasn't aroused by the guys or the sex. They were a little rough on the bung hole. I found myself clenching my ass cheeks while imagining the pain the poor guy must have been in.
Steph (& Drew): After you rent & watch Kristen Bjorn's Thick as Thieves , each of you write a review of it. Joe has already written one and I am in the process. It would be really interesting to have review perspectives of a str8 man and a str8 woman to compare to what 2 different gay men think of as an exceptional gay video.
