I am a huge fan of point-and-click style adventure games and the problem I am having is that the one I am currently working on turns my mouse speed to sluggish whenever it runs. There is no in-game setting to change the mouse speed or switch between hardware and software mouse pointer.
Is there perhaps a stand alone app the I can run that will keep my mouse speed constant when I try to play adventure games?

I don't know if there is anything that can change it just for that game, but if you go into the Windows Control Panel, there is a "Mouse" section; one of the options under one of the tabs is to alter the cursor speed.

Thanks, Harri. I should have mentioned that the settings under windows do not carry over to my game, and they when I exit from gaming my mouse returns to normal.

My Logitech G5 mouse has an "on the fly" DPI setting. With a click of the button on the mouse I can switch from "hair trigger" to "slow-mo," which is awesome for use in games involving sniper rifles/scopes. Normally, I want medium speed but when I switch to sniper scope, which typically slows my movements, I flip it up higher. The net result is I can move around my scope sights very fast and take out multiple targets while I'm in a vulnerable position for counter-attack.
I'm sure other mice support this feature. Saitek, Logitech G5/G9, etc.
If you are on WinXP (not Vista) there is a registry hack out there that will let you turn off Windows native "mouse curve" algorithm. This algorithm is what Windows uses to deal with acceleration of the mouse pointer at the OS level. By turning it off you are supposed to gain much higher speeds than normal as Windows isn't trying to "help" you but instead taking raw input. I have the link somewhere for the hack....let me find it.

I am not having a problem with my mouse speed regularly, just with 1 newer adventure game. "So Blonde" is the title.
The mouse I use is a Logitech MX310 linky. I am pleased with it and see no need for upgrading.
