For those of you that have your own websites, who do you use?
Reliability is more important to me than price.
There won't be much content to start with, but I will build it up.
I aim to sell advertising, merchandising and, eventually, the site.
For the record, it is music related....
Also, any links to good info on building a forum would be appreciated .

I recently went through the same search. Check out www.bluehost.com They are nice people I have enjoyed talking to via email as well as on the telephone.
Best deal for the money I could find. They do not allow "adult-themed" sites, but a music site should be fine.

They have site building tools, as will most hosts. You can install the free software and start a forum in about 15 minutes. Attracting posters is another story.

Thanks Bornyo, I will check them out.
I actually own a couple of domain names through GoDaddy, has anyone here used them for hosting?

I've used them. They are cheap and easy. If your site starts getting decent traffic. (hundreds of users per hour or more) don't be surprised when they try to push you onto a dedicated server package.

Thanks, drew.
I'm thinking of using them just to get the site(s) up, I can take the 2 month option and then review my needs/options.
If I can get to hundreds of users per hour that quickly, I will be happy!!
Cheers to you both.

Alright, the plot thickens...
I have acquired a few more domain names. One of them is gonna have some adult content, probably not hardcore.
But neither Bluehost or Godaddy will allow that.
I've come across "apthost" who will allow it, and they have a free trial too.
Thought I'd check back here first for any other suggestions before I give them a go....
Thanks for the replies so far!!

And I'd better add, it's not going to be modeled like Adultdvdtalk - more like a FHM kinda thing. Sort of.
I don't want to appear disrespectful to Drew & Steph, I hope it didn't look that way

No offense taken. Good luck with the sites.
