Maybe someone can tell me where she's originally from? I mean, some sites say she's from New England, others say she's from the original England. So who's right?
Judging from her accent, its highly unlikely that she's from the Olde Country, so I'd say New England. She speaks some German and French, but with an American acccent.
She claimed Brazilian descent in one interview, which doesn't look too implausible considering the wide range of physical types in Brazil.
In one of her films she does indicate that she is from Minnesota.

Hmm, I've only seen one thing she was is and that was Bang Boat on the computer. But I couldn't really tell what accent she had from the bad sound (in comparison with DVD) and her rather strange nasal voice. From what I could tell, it coulda been either a slight American accent from somewhere like New England or a slight English accent from the southern counties.
I own Just Over Eighteen #6, and I just watched her scene once more. She does indeed say that she *grew up* the States, in Minnesota, and recently spent a lot of time in France, after which she says a few words in French.
Being Dutch, I can't always tell the nuances of American accents (in the broad sense) apart - basically I can only positively recognize a New York accent, a prototypical Southern accent, a 'black' urban accent; all other American (and Canadian except Quebec of course) accents sound similar to me. I have plenty of experience with British accents (and French) though, and I'm sure Wendy doesn't have that.
I AM sure I heard her mention originally being from Brazil in an interview as well, but it wasn't this one. Of course it's perfecty possible that she was indeed born in Brazil and then grew up in Minnesota, or that her parents came from Brazil.

There aren't very many pronounced accents besides the ones you just mentioned. I would add that southerners can tell the difference between a Louisiana accent and other southern accents. Additionally, there is a "Great Lakes" accent spoken around Chicago, Michigan and Wisconsin, which to my ear sounds like a Canadian accent, cf Michael Moore.
Thanks for your remarks, nietzsche and Mojo. For some reason that kind of thing interests me. So does Wendy, obviously.

I just checked her ID's, and her SSN indicates that she acquired it on the West Coast. As I remember, she told me she was a California girl, and she had a CA drivers license.
