I mean duuuuude, go to a site like myfreecams and granted some of them are just cam girls, but there are also women on sites like that who are studying such things that effectively make them future lawyers, future accountants (I've personally had a session with a forensic accountant student) and such. There are a few fitness instructors and I think I came across a trainee school teacher once who was one of the ones who does anal. When you think about it anal is no small fry. It's only in recent years that anal has become more mainstream and has started to be spoken about quite nonchalantly and featured nonchalantly in media, but the basic fact of it is that when talking about anal we're talking about a woman (preferably, for me anyway) taking cock or a dildo up her rectum... and I'm saying there are fitness instructors and trainee teachers and accountancy students who anally penetrate themselves while others watch them in order to make a bit of extra cash... and also for fun (most of the cam girls tend to be very exhibitionist kinds of people who genuinely really enjoy what they do).
When in history has this been so? It's a very new thing, that 'average, every day girls' are doing such dirty (and hot!) things while strangers watch them... people who have day jobs. And then there's the thing where porn is becoming more and more mainstream and more and more acceptable to talk about, even to the extent that many girls who do a bit of porn don't think much anything of it and go on to be 'regular women' (aka non-porn women who have 'regular' jobs) - they just dabbled in porn to make a bit of cash, or for the experience, when they were younger. Can you imagine 10, 15, 20 years from now accountants, office workers and whoever else having actually done a little porn, maybe even hardcore, or having done cam sex for money, when they were younger? ...I dunno' I don't think I'm being naive, I mean sure 10-20 years ago there were women who did porn and went on to have relatively 'normal' lives, but I think it's becoming much more frequent and much less thought of.
Dang I had another point to mention to but it slipped my mind. ...seriously though, it only occurred to me quite recently that the world is pretty much at the height of a sexual revolution right now? ...I personally like it but then my opinion is biased right... I suppose everyone's opinion on whether this is good or bad will be biased in one way or the other.
Oh here's another point - there are numerous sites now for specific things such as anal sex dating, a site for men to meet women who will peg them lol, many sites for people to meet purely for sex, even one that encourages having affairs... I suppose this 'sexual revolution' has been enabled by the internet really. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself though right because there were dirty ads in the papers in the 80s at least and surely before then too... I think that there's a sexual revolution happening though.
What do you think?

I agree with the OP. Although I would call it a sexual evolution, rather than a revolution. Internet porn is changing the world in ways we don't even understand yet.

Okay yeah I suppose it's an evolution AND a revolution. It's a sexual revolution in which near everything about sex is evolving... or an evolution of sex which is so much/so intense that it's possibly a sexual revolution...
...but then really a revolution is when a group of people stand up for their rights or stand up against their oppressors to earn the right to be able to do something which they don't have the right to do but its absurd that they don't... that kinda' thing, so maybe you're right.
I mean in that context the revolution might've been the time leading upto when shooting porn was made legal in the places it is legal.
Hey here's another thing - it's illegal to shoot porn in more of the US states than not right, but camgirls are from all over. Now some of them don't do anything close to porn just some talk and titties, but then there are girls that are so dirty, that to be honest I consider them errr... semi-porn stars? or cyber prostitutes... not meaning to offend them because I love them and for the most part they're lovely girls who I respect and enjoy talking to as well. Well anyway there are cam girls doing stuff all over, as hardcore as very hardcore solo anal... so is this not a contradiction of the porn shooting laws? I think I'm right that it's illegal in a lot of places. And the cam sites are well known and accepted and legal. Plus some of the cam girls, who live all over, sometimes shoot amateur porn videos and sell them on the cam site they work on... now I'm pretty sure they don't drive all the way to Cali. to shoot these.
So what's up with that?

Given that every generation becomes sexually active at about the same time it is rejecting, or at least calling into question the mores of its parents and its culture, when isn't sex in a revolutionary state?
Let me give you three examples of why everything old is new again: the acolytes of Athena, the Kama Sutra, and the Marquis de Sade.

^ Yep. I think what the OP is detecting is what Marjorie Heins calls "a highly schizophrenic culture" in which sexually explicit media seems to be everywhere, alongside an incredibly moralistic and conservative attitude toward sex. It's not really a true revolution if people are still ostracized for doing those jobs, fired for having once been in porn, shamed or blamed for this that and the other, and basic rights/protections are being rolled back. It's certainly a curious moment to live in, and I hope that eventually there is broader social change as a result of all these developments.

Perhaps this is a communication revolution that enables people with mutual sex interests to connect with each other, among other things.
The biggest difficulty sex-workers and their customers had in the past was how to find each other and communicate with each other without the fear of getting arrested for it. Because they had to do it on the street or in some bawdy house. And in both of those places, police looked for them and arrested them regularly.
But now there is no internet police in most western countries. People are more or less free to communicate with each other as they wish. Although this isn't entirely true even in USA. Not so long ago, the Craiglist website had to shutdown some of its sex-categories and prevent people from finding each other for sexual purposes due to pressure from government officials in USA.
It's possible for the government to censor the internet and also track down people on the internet and arrest them. Perhaps there is a sexual revolution going on in USA now, but I wouldn't take it for granted. The government can shut down this sexual revolution any time it decides to do so.

Anal sex has been mainstream in porn for over 10 years now, and was actually more common 10 years ago than it is right now... Go look for some films made between 2000-2005 and you will notice that 4/5 scenes in a video would contain anal sex whether it was an anal titled movie or not...
Anal sex is actually less common now in porn than it was years ago... it's actually on the decline in NA made content, and that's a little depressing for anal sex fans.

Why is it on the decline? I have actually noticed this myself. Many of my favourite anal babes are girls who were at their prime around the mid 2000s and in some cases are 'retired' now. So this hasn't gone unnoticed by me... But why is it?

Yes OP
There is a sexual revolution going on before our eyes and dicks.
I am an older guy
Getting a blow job in my day was truly rare.
Now they teach young girls how to do it in teen magazines.
But as you yourself know, it is the digital cameras we have these days and the interent that has allowed this revolution.
In my day, Poloroid cameras were only just coming in
You had to wait 2 weeks for colour slides to be processed.
And there was 8mm film.
And as another poster said the internet allows people to "communicate".
But yes in their day the Romans were pretty horny I mean they invented fellatio!
And nowadays anal sex is very much the norm in porn.
And there is not much else aside from disgusting or dangerous stuff.
And with the number of jobs that have disapeared for young girls and women eg clothing workers in factories, or telephone receptionists or typists, or factory workers they have to make an income somehow. So its escorting and porn.
Sad but true.

^I was with you until you got to the part about why some women go into porn and escorting. Although it's true that manufactoring jobs are getting rare. The same can be said for men who worked in those industries so why are men not getting into porn or escorting?
I cannot imagine a time when a young women looking for a job will consider porn or escorting as an option unless she needs a lot of money in a short amount of time or she truly believe that this is the only thing she can do. Although working in retail or other types of low paying industries are not a great jobs. The fact that you probably get health benefits must serioulsy make them superior jobs to porn or escorting where those jobs do not offer this and are more likely to involve you getting infected by an STD.

If women want equality so badly, why aren't they spending all their time trying to fuck men in the ass?

Lol. The Roman Emperor Galienus called fellatio "lesbiari" - i.e. lesbian, as it was apparently a widely held belief in Rome at the time that the women of Lesbos introduced the practice of giving sexual pleasure with the lips.
Anyway, it's not even an exclusively human sexual practice. Bonobo Chimpanzees and Fruit Bats are very fond of doing it.

It's true that the Internet has changed the model dramatically but that is still mostly a communications medium. Product and consumer were always there. It's just easier for them to connect with each other now and a lot faster.
However, with this comes a very high risk. There have been a few stories of school teachers and others being recognized from porn videos, at any time in the future. Anyone choosing to do porn today is seriously underestimating the power of the Internet. With websites like IAFD and DVDs readily available to your mailbox, this material doesn't disappear. People keep favourite scenes on their hard drives (in the case of downloaded material) forever and of course DVDs stay around for a long time.
So, I predict we will see a lot more stories of women being recognized by future peers because of their actions in filming porn today. In fact I am surprised we don't hear of it more often.
If I was an attractive young woman today I simply would not want to take that risk. There is too much to lose.

On the other hand, leaving aside the Pill, the history of the sexual revolution is one of people coming to accept, if not embrace, things that were once beyond the pale for 'good' women, like fellatio.
I believe that sexual mores will continue to relax so long as modern medicine can stay ahead of sexually transmitted diseases. Or, to put it in reverse, a backlash will only gain momentum when the majority agrees that there's an unacceptable price to be paid for 'free' sex.

Letting the majority decide what kind of rights and freedoms people will have is a recipe for possible slavery and forced sexual puritanism.
Because it's possible for politicians to persuade the majority to follow some Christian or Islamic fundamentalism or have slavery for some racial minority, the way USA had it at the beginning of its democratic history.
The only way to protect people's rights, especially when these people are a minority, is to have Universal human rights that are there regardless of who gets elected and regardless of how many people the politicians manage to persuade to vote their way.
Unless you believe in having human rights that all people have by virtue of their birth, anything is possible in a democracy, including slavery, human rights abuse, and suppression of human sexuality.

Dan, you really need to grasp the difference between custom and law.

I have no problem with customs, as long as they are not imposed on me by the majority through laws and the police.
When there is no enforcement, then you have a diversity. Because even the minorities who are different from the majority feel free to do whatever they like.
It's the penalties and enforcement that make everyone behave the same way and have the same customs. And this what I'm against. Just because the majority likes things in certain way doesn't necessarily mean that the majority has a right to force everyone to be this way.

What an interesting discussion I initiated. I am proud of that!
To the person who said that they think more and more women in the future will be recognised in porn and don't understand how there isn't more of this all ready, well one thing that came to my mind on reading this is that 20 years from now it might become quite acceptable for women to be recognised in old porn.
I think it must surely be wrongful termination say, if a 40 year old teacher was dismissed because of a porn scene she did when she was 18, especially if she did it because she needed money to keep studying in her campaign to get to where she is at age 40. But there's the working with teens thing, so okay maybe a better example is of a female detective, or a lawyer.
