I tried to do a search on this topic in this forum and came up with zilch, so many somebody here could answer my question.
This afternoon I was shopping in a flea market with a friend of mine and we were perusing through a store with a lot of porn DVDs, mostly all black and IR titles that I had never seen before. The African-American woman working the register asked my friend, who was also black, if he liked "west coast" stuff, and proceeded to pull out dozens of what looked to me like bootleg DVD-Rs with cheap, photocopied covers of voluptuous black women, and just went on and on, saying specifically "west coast" over and over as if we'd know exactly what all that entailed. She even said that some of the porn was even shot locally and that even some of the girls were from my area, and we live very much on the east coast of the U.S. Neither of us bought anything but we walked away baffled, neither of us regular porn-buying types familiar with the term she kept using.
So what is "west coast" porn? I mean, isn't everything shot in Porn Valley technically considered west coast? Is there some kind of east coast/west coast rivalry going on in porn these days like in hip-hop back in the 90's? Are girls flashing gang signs to the cameras while getting rammed in the ass?
Just curious. We've been blathering about it all day together and I thought I'd solicit the peanut gallery for their learned opinions.
