I will admit though that I, too, was pleasantly surprised by the performances of both Nicole Brazzle and Mika Tan. This just couldn't overcome the whole Teagan/Rollergirl debacle.

My objections to the scene were really just based upon something outside of Mike Quasar's control: I just don't dig the chick. I am sad to say that the only porn "rollergirl" I am familiar with is the one Heather Graham played in "Boogie Nights." So, I might be missing something but I too am not quite sure what Tynian wanted to see.

(my apologies for the following deviation from the thread topic) What happened to me? I believe it's called "porn burnout". It's almost comparable to the "South Park" where Cartman meets Ben Afflect's assfaced parents and can no longer laught afterward because he "blew a funny fuse." Way back in late June I got a copy of "Big Black Beast." Oh, my oh my. My-#2-behind-TSC Avy Scott in an anal scene with Mandingo. Oh, my oh my. Then I watched it and it wasn't very good and inexplicably I gradually stopped caring about porn. I found myself reading books and engaging in political conversations with my grad school brother.

However, I'm getting back into the swing of things and catching up on missed scenes, such as Pandora Dreams' first/only anal and Nikki Lorren's new boy/girls and what-not.

By the by, I read Crickett's column on Teagan's implants. It was interesting....I feel a rant coming on though.

I've always seen the Wet Dreams Cum True series as a "role playing" series, yet the action in these scenes have very little to do with role playing beyond the costumes that are chosen for the young women in the scenes. It seems to me that if you're going to go to the trouble of getting these young ladies dressed up in these outfits that people want to see, why not go ahead and have some portion of the scene devoted to developing the "role" that the young ladies are portraying. For example ,in WDCT2 Lea deMae was ridiculously hot dressed up in the I Dream of Jeannie outfit, but I think it would have been exponetially hotter with some hot talk from her to her "Master" who started the scene out in something at least vaguely resembling an Air Force uniform. If you want to play on the fantasies of all of those guys who lusted after Barbara Eden in the 60s and 70s, why not go the whole nine yards? I'm not lobbying for a full-blown production here, just something that goes a little bit beyond a cookie-cutter gonzo scene that could have come from any one of a dozen other DVD lines.

As for the Teagan scene, as soon as I saw the box cover for this title in August, the parallel the Heather Graham's character in Boogie Nights leaped into my mind. I thought that there were some interesting (and slightly humorous) parallels that could be drawn between Teagan and Heather Graham's Rollergirl character. For those of you that haven't seen the movie, Heather Graham plays a high school (or college?) girl who just happens to have an unusual after school job; making porn movies for the wonderfully sleazy Burt Reynolds. The appeal of Rollergirl, who wears roller skates all the time (both in front of the camera and in her "real" life), is that she has a wonderfully fresh and uncomplicated way of looking at the fictionalized 70's porn world of the movie even though she's surrounded by jaded pseudoprofessionals who just seem to be going through the motions. Having spent more time than I care to admit following the never-ending "WOW! Teagan" thread, Teagan (or perhaps, more accurately, Teagan's online persona) seemed to have a similar "joi de vive pornographique". Now, after reading some of the recent posts about her boob-job and her "selling out" by signing a contract, this idea of her as a fresh-faced young thing joyfully going from shoot to shoot seems a little ironic, but that was my thinking at the time. So after all of that intellectual(?) build-up, seeing a scene where she basically gave a little tease and then Mr. Pete (I think) strolled into the scene and started laying pipe just didn't do it for me. I didn't necessarily need to see her skate backward to disco music and I do want to see her fuck, but it wouldn't be a bad thing to show a little more in the way of role playing in a series that seems to lend itself to this passtime.

I could have all of this entirely wrong, that is, Wet Dreams Cum True might not be designed for role playing at all, but if it isn't maybe there should be a line that fits in somewhere in between cookie-cutter gonzo and the overly-done "features" that are out there.

BTW -- For those of you that are interested enough in this topic to read all of this longwinded explanation, don't read too much into the term "cookie-cutter gonzo scenes". I'm just trying to convey something about the homogeneity of some scenes that go into a lot of gonzo titles. These scenes may be scorchingly hot, ridiculously weak, or somewhere in between but the fact remains that there isn't a lot that separates one from another with regard to setup.

However, constructing a set-up for Teagan as rollergirl that harkens back to Heather Graham's Boogie Nights performance doesn't seem so easy especially considering that not everone has seen that movie. The naughty nurse and schoolgirl are easier because they are far more general and recognizable concepts but maybe I need to think more outside the box.

I'd still like to see some more role playing in gonzo scenes though, especially in this series or another series like it.

Avatar images must be small in size. No more than 10 hex 100 pixels and a maximum file size not more than 5k. If the width is less than 100 pixels a length of 120 pixels is ok. But please do not exceed 100 pixels width.

True. I think we are starting to see the limits on the level of excitement a tried and true shoot-and-fuck scene can generate especially since no one is doing anything to differentiate themselves from everyone else.
