What do you mean with "Essentials" ? You mean a list of Companies / Directors / Actors and their best movies / scenes ?

I don't think this would be so much that a new forum was needed. Maybe we could fill this thread or you could make a poll in the Polls-forum and compile a list. Generally I could imagine this to be a hard task since when asking that question some people might answer "I love nearly all of Anabolic's Assman series", some others might say that only 6 performers were great in these movies, while others will say that this series sucks and again others will say they don't like Anabolic.

Don't know if it's easily possible to compile such a list.

We try to only create new forums when there is an epidemic of posts surrounding a subject that doesn't fit within any of the current forums. Otherwise we'll have a ton of sparsely populated forums.

I'm thinking about a forum where each thread would correspond to *one* director/performer (maybe companies).

For example, there we could have a topic "Sylvia Saint". So, in this thread the members that like this performer could post what they think is a "essentials list" for people who want to know her.

IMHO, an "essentials list" is not necessarily a list of "The Best". Maybe a member could suggest a movie from the beginning of a performer/director career only to show how he(she)was awkward in those times and how he(she) has improved.

I believe "essentials lists" has two functions:

1) It helps someone who never saw a film of a performer/director but has listened a lot about him(her) and wants to know from where to start.

2) DVD collectors may want to buy only "must have" titles
of their favorites.

In this sense, I think that people could tell for each item in their list what is the uniqueness of it in the list (or in the star career).

Well, following Steph suggestions I may start threads about essentials. But, again, my idea is not having just *one* thread, but various threads, one for each star. Because of this I thought in creating a forum.
