I realize this is probably not the right forum, but I imagine those in the know will probably more often hang out in here. I like the style of a lot of the male oriented gonzo stuff, though I personally find much of the content ugly and offensive and disgusting. Are there any plotless, straight sex gonzo series that are more attuned to women's desires? I realize that many women probably like the more nasty, male oriented stuff. Maybe I really should be asking: Are there gonzo alternatives to that?

Back in the day when I watched movies from that genre, I was quite fond of the Sex Across America series. The titles I've seen were all playful gonzo, sometimes featuring real life couples, and the action was quite explicit without being rude. I still have #2 (New Orleans) in my personal DVD library. It's nice to see the series has started back up again after a hiatus.

I'll second Luc Wylder's Sex Across America series.
There are twelve of them so far, and IMHO they range from pretty good to f*cking great.

Luc's Amateur Angels is apparently hit and miss as far as quality goes. I've only got #1 of that series, but I liked that one a lot.

Devinn Lane's Road Trixxx is also really great.

Basically any gonzo style releases from Wicked and Adam & Eve should be relatively safe, but Sex Across America and Road Trixxx are my personal favourites.

I'm curious about Billy Glyde's new reality series. From the trailers, the boys look really good and the sex looks fun & humiliation-free, it could be women-friendly. And there's Cassie Young.

Perhaps Steve Drake's old Sex Offenders series put out some years ago by Wicked?
Some of Shane's World stuff also?

I was going to say what Walter said- the Shane's World series is hot as far as the sex goes, it is gonzo with the cast usually off to some locale and it is shot in a playful style that should appeal to women ( and men).

Thanks so much for the recommendations, everyone! It's comforting to know there is other sorts of porn out there. Browsing the shelves these days is kind of scary and upsetting to me, to tell you the truth. lol. It's easy to get overwhelmed, I guess.

I agree with the Shane's World recommendation, with the exception of the college invasion series (not my cup of tea).

Hmmm. Well, if it's the generally ugly bachelor black leather couch and white walls that seems to permeate all the male orientated gonzos, that's turning you off... and you want something that takes the visual appeal well into the backdrop, but also maintains very intense sex... I would check out Mason's "Riot Sluts", or "Sexual Disorder", or Mason's "Sluts" coming out in September... or probably anything of Mason's. Also, Joe Gallant's "Contract Girl." Though, this does get very rauchy... it's visually beautiful... a completely off the wall story line... think B movie style... hysterical... but with 8 gonzo sex scenes. And the first one, I really think would appeal to any woman. Very unique movie. Jack The Zipper's style is quite appealing to women as well. "Stunt Girl" # 1 & # 2. And his new one, coming out soon, "White Witch." And I hope I made my new flick, "Gash", coming out soon, hard enough for the man, but also visually appealing to the woman.

If you're looking towards gonzo because you'd like to see sex uncluttered by bad acting, cheap art direction, and the other allusions to real filmmaking that afflict feature-style porn, may I humbly suggest taking a look at Comstock Films. Our approach is inspired by early gonzo in as much as the progenitors of the gonzo style recognized that more often than not, the featuresque elements in script-based porn interfered with rather than enhanced the audience enjoyment of the presentation – an insight that I regard as the last great breakthrough in the presentation of on-screen sex. Sadly, gonzo has become a race to the bottom and it's hard to imagine what thinking and feeling human being would want to masturbate to a title like "Blown O-Ring."

But regardless of gonzo's downward spiral, both creatively and economically, the realization is still useful. Comstock Films present sex stripped bare of any pretense that you are seeing an acted movie; instead utilizing the performers' innate charisma to keep the audience interested in what would otherwise be the mere mechanics of sex.

It's "O-Ring Blowout" actually. I can't wait to beat off to it.

I searched that title on the database. Okay, since you put this as a response in a thread I started, I assume you are looking for feedback. I got a look at the box for this thing and on the back are several pictures of women's enlarged and irritated rectums, which I assume are a result of the "100% Anal" proudly written on the front. While I was relieved that there was none of the "cunt, whore bitch, slut, cumpdumpster" catchphrases on the box, I am completely repulsed by the idea behind this series. Fucking women up the ass until their rectums are swollen and irritated, "blown out" I assume? What the Hell is the turn-on here? I just don't get it. Would it excite you even more if they were torn and bleeding? I'm sorry, but this stuff just sickens me and makes me sad. I know that a lot of my boyfriend's single male friends watch and love this stuff. God I'm glad I don't have a daughter their age. Lol!

Tulip, what exactly are you looking for in gonzo as opposed to features?
It sounds like you prefer the style of sex put out by the feature companies. (I do too, BTW)
What is it about the features you want to avoid?

If it's just the gap between sex scenes, have you considered picking up a compilation?
IMHO, some of Vivid's 4 hour comps have better sex content than their reputation on ADT would suggest. But their picture quality is much too grainy for my tastes. In other words: It's crap. Still, they are cheap.
I haven't seen any of Wicked's 4 hour comps, but I would expect them to look a little better than Vivid's. Perhaps someone else has seen one and would care to comment?

Kick Ass Pictures' DVDs are mostly vignettes with a little lead-in to the sex. They might also work for you.
I've liked some of their older titles a lot, but their latest offerings look too much like current gonzo for my tastes. That's progress for you.

If it's the role-playing you want to get rid of, and just want the performers to be themselves as much as the format allows, the previously mentioned road trip series Sex Across America , Shane's World and Road Trixxx could be what you're after.

I doubt Mason's movies are what you're looking for. As she herself has said in an earlier thread, they're not for everyone. But check the various reviews. Few movies get more varying ratings than Mason's.

Have you checked out the Suggestions for Couples Movies thread?

Tulip,hmmm... maybe you should look for "Eroctavision." These two women have released some videos under their own lable, but will soon be with a larger distributor. Try doing a google search for them. Eroctavision.com... maybe? There has been some movement in making videos for the "couples market", though, very very little that I've seen for "women." There is also "Impulse", which will soon be with this same larger distributor. As a woman, I'm more into the Mason thing. Ahh... thank goodness women are such diverse and unusual creatures we still keep the men guessing as to how to please us... lol. But, I like it a bit more raw... however, with interesting production design and some mark of creativity. Mason's stuff is pretty intense, but, it deals more with the phsyce of the woman than her blown-out ass hole. Eroctavision is straight sex scenes, but cut up a bit more, set to music. All of the above is made by women.

Tulip,
As one of the world's biggest Mason fans, based on some of your comments, I don't know if this is what you are looking for. Although it is different than other gonzo, and it is made by a woman, it is still some of the most hardcore, roughest sex out there (which is why I like it!) I think we would need more info on what you find "ugly and offensive and disgusting" other than simply assholes blowing out.

Based on what we know, I would give another +1 to Shane's world titles. Another suggestion would be to identify a studio you like, and buy a compilation DVD. This will cut out all the plots and just give you the sex scenes.

I would also recommend that you try some of the other recommendations before you go to Mason. I love her too, but I don't think that's where we want to steer you.

If by "the style of a lot of the male oriented gonzo" you mean just getting to the sex without a lot of dilly-dallying around on plot or setups, there's another possibility -- Michael Ninn-style vignette movies. Here, though, you have to deal with other factors, like copious slow-motion, music instead of live audio, elaborate sets and costumes. I like his VCA work more than some of the NinnWorx material I've seen -- "Fade to Blue" or "Cashmere" for instance.

Digital Playground is doing these kinds of movies as well -- the "Island Fever" series (1 and 3 especially) are decent for just regular non-hostile sex in beautiful locations (but still too much slo-mo).

Brad Armstrong often does something like this at Wicked as well -- no plot, no dialogue, prettily filmed, but less slo-mo. Off the top of my head, I liked older editions like "Vegas Or Bust" and "In Style", both starring Devinn Lane.

I think these are designed to cater to women, but I'm not sure it's what you have in mind. FWIW, I like Shane's World stuff too. SW19 was pretty great.

Hey Tulip,

If you like the reality style stuff I would highly suggest checking out our Shane's World line. I would suggest Swingers for a couple for sure!

If you are looking for something that is Gonzo ... but just nicer looking, i would highly suggest our Search and Destroy line. That line of videos is nice and hardcore gonzo style with hot looking chicks ... without dragging the girl around by her hair and making them cry. The girls get raunchy and their is lots of anal .. but no running make up or anything really degrading!

We also have Our new college guide series ... which can kind of be described at wall to wall with some funny but education skits thrown in. The Newest release for that is TCollege Guide to getting More Pussy, which is awesome! But i hold a soft spot for the first one "College guide to Anal Sex"

If you are looking for some gonzo wall to wall that is done VERY well and has no dialog ... I highly suggest "Fucking Beautiful" by New Sensations.

Hope that helps!
Megan

Might I suggest the old Nasty Nymphos series from Anabolic. Despite their reputation for rough hardcore and the name of the series, this usually had scenes that didn't degrade or demean the women in it. They got fucked hard and often anally but there was some emphasis put on women's pleasure.
For modern day plotless porn I'd say look to the directors that feature women at their best. Jules Jordan, Van Styles, Johnni Darkko come to mind.
Directors who get off the beaten track like Joey Silvera and DAC don't usually victimize their female performers and present them with their personalities on display quite often.
