I have always told mine the truth. When I was a dancer, I explained to them (cuz they were young then) that there were clubs where men and women liked to go to watch ladies dance and take off their clothes and that I was one of the ladies who danced and took off her clothes. Later on, when I danced private parties, they met my boss (one of my older kids babysat for my boss who had a very young child) and were often around the house when we were taking pictures for ads and of other gals who joined the company. They were never exposed to anything inappropriate for their age(s), but they understood that instead of going to smokey clubs and dancing and taking off my clothes, now I went to people's houses and danced and took off my clothes with just one or two other women who probably weren't going to steal my stuff or start fights. When I started doing internet porn, it was bondage stuff and foot fetish stuff not sex stuff, and they thought that was the funniest thing they ever heard of. When my boss started doing mainstream porn, they were pretty interested in that. They were old enough to understand very clearly (and I'm sure by then the oldest boys had snuck some stuff somewhere and peeked at it) what pornography was. A year and a half after she started, I started, and mostly they were just upset that I would leave home and fly across the country for a couple weeks at a time. Now that I escort, my kids are mostly concerned for my safety. They query me when I set up my schedule, they want to know if I'm going to see a regular or a new person. They make sure I pack all my important things. My daughter hugs me and gives me a kiss and says, "Stay safe." when I leave for work. They're very excited about me dancing bachelor parties again, they think that's when I had the most fun working. I think the boys hope there will be a string of dancers coming into the house to have their pictures taken again, too.
I've never fostered any concept of possesive sexual interest in my home. I don't personally believe in sex as a tool for intimacy. I don't buy into romantic love at all. I've done my best to teach my children that sex is what you do between your legs, and love is what you do between your ears.
Sex is for feeling good, making babies, and making money. In my life. In your life it can be for whatever you want, but don't push that on me.
Thanks for your answer, Kimi. I love the way you have handled it with your children. That's the kind of answer I was hoping for. I was always curious - still am.
Actually I just wanted to say thank you Kimi for being honest about it all. I know, I am being fucked by the man. They just don't film or tape it, and no one is getting aroused. I would just like to fuck back once. Maybe in a different lifetime. Parker
I work with evil people too. I may be one of them. It depends on your perspective.
Katja makes a good point though about kids and their parents occupations. I travelled around the world with my dad when I was a kid and all I really knew about "why" was he did something in business. I only had the vaguest conception of what he actually did for work and that was something to do with wearing a suit and visiting people. For all I know he could have been a male gigolo and I wouldn't have had a clue. I think there's alot of kids like that who don't even think about it unless there's like a Career day at school. It isn't until they get older they start wondering more about the details of mom or dad's work. And by then, hopefully they're mature enough to understand if mom happens to be working in the sex industry. Though I think Kimi did a great job easing her children into the details of her changing careers. I've met them and they're a pretty open family, comfortable talking about mom's work and they really do know what she's doing everyday.
Pity you have too much class to name names about who has given you that impression. But I suppose that would totally derail the thread and could get you into trouble.
I think it would be cool telling your kids that you work in the adult entertainment, but I don't have any kids. It could be worse, you could be telling them that you're a dustman.
